T221
Opened the turn to a ceasefire offer this time. It's soon apparent why:
Looks like Superdeath has decided 'Screw Tarkeel.' Maybe he turns around since I didn't take the peace, but this is still a big opportunity.
Superdeath's knights were not in the attack stack. They were mostly still holed up in 30s2Mars instead, as well as two of them retaking those coastal cities. Thankfully it was only those two, which means I don't have to start freaking out about them. Yet. Meanwhile, Seether and BringMeToLife were left completely empty, so I did take both of those.
I had to think for a long time about this one. Eventually, I decided to keep it because it seems like Superdeath is more interested in hurting Tarkeel than me. If I'm wrong, I'll be able to retake it next turn, I believe.
The stack is just kind of stuck, as I didn't plan here very well. I moved it onto the Uranium, where it can retake the city if Superdeath turns around. Also note Tarkeel's cavalry and rifles hiding under my stack.
I thought I'd finally found a use for my Morale knight, in pillaging roads and being able to run away afterwards. It looks like Superdeath deleted all his workers for some reason, so he can't build new roads.
Of course, the workshop gets targeted for pillaging first.
I landed some of the tanks and new forces here.
The other tanks landed on the... pillaged tile, which I'm 99% sure SD can't crack. Nice pillaging, Amica; at least that workshop knows who's boss!
Donovan Zoi is just standing there. Menacingly.
Not sure if he's planning an attack, or trying to scare me off from one. He's unloaded a decent-sized army in his newly-captured cities, so probably the latter.
The other day I mentioned those coastal cities, but this part of the war is also super weird. Donovan has loads of troops running around, but they can't efficiently kill Tarkeel's infantry. Tarkeel has infantry, but doesn't seem to bother building (or even drafting) them much. I must be missing something, like stacks in the fog.
The more I play these turns, the more I realise how big of a mistake switching out of Representation was. A lot of cities are running specialists because they literally have enough food to overflow 2 sizes in 1 turn.
It's losing me hundreds of beakers per turn, and definitely worth remembering. Who knows if it will ever come up again, but Food Corporation = RUN REPRESENTATION.
Speaking of specialists, I got a Great Engineer. I was hoping for a scientist, since the bulbing would be better, and I'm not really sure what to do with this guy. I don't really want Plastics, so I wonder if settling him in the capital is the best course. With so few turns left in the game, that feels so terribly wrong that I didn't do it yet. So maybe he'll just sit in the capital doing nothing instead - that's a much better idea, right?
Big events in the graphs recently.
Miguelito's GNP has completely skyrocketed, I suppose he must be building wealth/research with Mining Inc cities. It's ahead of Piccadilly now, which is really good for me. If I'm going to win a domination victory, I need those two to be in genuine competition, since it means they will focus on each other instead of me. It also encourages each of them to put hammers into buildings, wealth, and research rather than units.
Currently I'm still trading with Mig, since he's giving me grain resources. Piccadilly is a terrible trading partner here, because they also want grain resources. But I'm obviously prepared to swap sides, if it looks like Mig is pulling in front. We might need to be sleazy backstabbing jerks, if we're aiming for the 1% chance. Sorry in advance, everybody.
