Alright, sounds good. I'm sure our borders will meet elsewhere eventually, but we can discuss that when it happens.

I dunno - I've got all the trade I need right now.

Mardoc: you should now that I consider presence of Probe Teams in my territory a casus belli.

Alright, I'll back out. Just wanted to see how you were managing such good demos with so few cities. I don't have the EP to actually harm you with him.
@Maniac: I think Piratey probe teams are defective. Nobody taught them how to hide! It's probably cause they're dressed like ninjas, the natural enemy . :aar:
@All: I'm snatching a last couple minutes of internet tonight, then I'll hit the road and be without internet until Tuesday (and then only if AT&T hooks me up on schedule). Might I suggest this as a good turn for empire summary extravaganzas?

Maniac,
As you can probably see from my builds, I no longer intend to attack. I know it begs disbelief to read this so hear me out .
My initial reaction when I first saw my production-heavy, food-poor land was to push for a conquest/dom, but seeing more of the map with my subs, I think that's impossible now - especially given the terrain between us. Well played, those were some fun turns. But now we need to look forward to the rest of the game.
We're both stuck pretty firmly in the middle of the pack, and with human neighbors, we're probably going to stay there. With that in mind, I think it would be best for our (Maniac, Sareln) long term winning chances if we got our continent settled and pushed towards transcendence. Looking for additional allies along the way. I've got all my GP slots to spend on Transcendi too (though with my luck the first one is going to be a datajack). I figured the easiest way to work it would be for me to use my production to push out colony pods to fill out everything East (Right) of Gargopoli before jumping into Democratic for the GPP and help each other out with doubled up resources as they come online (Silver, Helium-3 since I'm buying from Mardoc and have my own sources as well, and the rare ocean DNA as well). You'd do something similar. I'm not sure on whether summoning Cha-Dawn would be useful.
In retrospect I should have done this after the first peace was forced, but I had my blood up and was stupid about it.
Do you wish to bury this hatchet; to make a shot at winning, or is this a game for grudges?
Sincerely,
Sareln

On the subject of past rhetoric:

So do you admit you were planning war against me long before I did a pre-emptive strike against you, and even before I liberated a tech from you?
On the subject of peace:
I never wanted war, so if you want peace that's certainly fine by me. However last interbellum you changed your builds to non-military stuff too until the last couple turns of the peace, when you changed back to military units. So it takes more to convince me you're no longer planning war. You still have a large army on my doorstep. While that's there, I have no choice but to be in a permanent state of readiness for another declaration of war by you.
On the subject of allying:
Just trading resources does not make an alliance. There is an option for further cooperation though: open up your data networks to my datatechs. If you truly wish for an alliance, you shouldn't have a problem with technological parity.

@ Maniac, I'm going to be out and about for the next 3 days, so let me ponder for a bit, just getting the turn out the door before I leave (limited net access). My initial thought is that it shouldn't be a problem.
