[Spoiler] Desperados: The Black Sword & Agent

Silver island is going to need a bit of military to settle & defend its worker.

There's another barb axe on the highlighted tile that ate my exploring warrior. The city producing it is just to the southwest.

I can get Alphabet in 2 turns of 100% (300gold), Masonry in 1 turn of 100%.
I think I save up to do both in a row, Alphabet first, will be a few turns before I've settled stone and have a worker there too.

I've lost visibility on Vienna due to a culture pop. So I want to get a spy to peer in, then try to take it out with Swords.

HRE is researching Construction at the moment.

Why do you want alphabet?

I'd be thinking of HBR or Construction(which is why you want Masonry I assume).

What's the culture situation on the fish like?

The fish tile is still 50-50. The work boat finished but can't work the fish yet!

Filler site 1 settled, forest chopped to ensure no waste.

Filler site 2 will be settled next turn, and that barb city to the far east (hopefully) captured.
Stone site settled the turn after that.

Spices and Dyes are hooked up, Incense to be hooked up shortly. I've overtaken HRE in Power and Crop Yield and I'm producing Swordsmen in my core cities.

On the front with HRE, do you think it'd be worthwhile to drop a fort on the wine tile here?

I wont be able to get to a computer on Tuesday & possibly Wednesday, do you mind covering 1 or 2 turns?

Sure thing.

For getting visibility in Vienna, the easiest way is to research HBR, build one of our half price stables and put sentry on a chariot IMO. It would be interesting to use the spy to scout out HRE's interior but I'm not sure whether interesting = worth the beakers.

I don't think a fort on that wine tile is worth it. Positioning units in Sabata itself is just as flexible for attacking Vienna and doesn't risk getting hit by catapults.

Is the fort to connect the wine resource?

Yeah... I think the idea being that, since a fort takes twice as long to construct as a winery, the Zulu workers can thus spend twice as long stomping on the tile as a show of displeasure... mischief

It's spend 10 worker turns on connecting a happy resource or spend however many turns researching Monarchy and then five turns building a winery, right? Maybe it makes sense, I don't know tech rate, how badly happiness is needed, etc. But if Monarchy isn't in the near term planning and/or takes more than five turns to research if it is in the plan, the fort still gets the resource connected sooner. Despite my predilection for giving away plains wines like skittles to everyone whether they want it or not, it isn't a great tile so the yield isn't all that important. If the fort gets the happiness in play sooner I think it's a good move, if the happiness is needed.

My $0.02 .

I was pretty tempted to declare and kill them, but didn't want to make that decision for you and we already hate everyone else!

I settled the filler too, that's a pretty good long term spot btw, might be worth making that the main city in the area since it can work all the river tiles and put up a Levee for them. That probably means giving it the wheat and pigs eventually.
