Wow, very different style of clues this round, not going for any sure things.  Glad we've got a bit of breathing room, though!

Tchaikovsky is definitely MOSCOW
Probably BOOM for the 1812 Overture.

I think those would be my first and second guesses. After that I'm less confident.
I know he wrote ballets, closest to that I see is OPERA. Which maybe was meant as part of Globe, maybe not. If not then I like BILL as the guess
Not really seeing any third Tchaikovsky word except for OPERA, which I guess would make it my third guess even though I'm not sure it's right. But I definitely want others' opinions first. Globe still seems to have several possibles so I want to try to fill it in last.

I recall Tchaikovsky was MOSCOW resident. I know his STRING music well (bonus, a global candidate), but did he write any OPERA? Nutcracker is a ballet.

BOOM for the 1812 Overture, definitely.
I don't know if Tchaikovsky wrote any OPERAs, but the musical connection seems strong.
MOSCOW is also Russian, so I suppose that could work.

I still think STRING is a strong choice as well.

Tchaikovsky, to me, was a Russian composer who wrote the Nutcracker and the 1812 Overture (and whatever symphony the overture was connected to I guess). So I'm looking for connections with Russia, music, and iconic items from his works, like soldiers, fairies, and cannons.

I definitely put Moscow top.

I also really like Opera - we spent some time last game discussing the difference between technical accuracy and just getting the point across, and to me if I had to clue Moscow+Opera I'm using Tchaikovsky since I don't know any Russian (or non-German for that matter) Opera composers.

After that we've got Boom for the cannons as you all mention, and String for the category of instruments. It's potentially worrying we weren't given Tchaikovsky 4 for the clue, but I'm fine with either word.

Well, I'd like string higher than boom just for the globular connection too.

Point to MOSCOW

I didn't see STRING but it's a pretty solid connection, basically half an orchestra, and regardless of opera or ballet, I'm sure both used an orchestra.  I think I'd prefer BOOM first, and I agree OPERA is likely. I'm ok with any of those as guesses, but it seems like there's some disagreement so I won't point yet.

I can't tell, Commodore, are you in favor of guessing OPERA or not?  I guess it came to mind but I'm not sure if you want it.

Fenn wants:
1. BOOM
2. OPERA
3. STRING

Sunrise wants:
1. OPERA
2. BOOM
3.  STRING

Commodore wants:
1. ?OPERA?
2. STRING
3. BOOM

and I'm in favor of
1. BOOM
2. STRING
3. OPERA

Fortunately no one seems to see connections to anything else, so it's really just a question of figuring out the best order to guess in.

And maybe deciding whether STRING is the intended Globe word or if we still want to try for another one of those.  I think it's likely there's another Globe word that wasn't STRING, but I'd rather guess these first, Globe had too many possibles.  I guess I just want to leave it as an open item for guessing later if need be.  But if anyone doesn't like a possible Tchaikovsky guess we could work in a Globe word earlier.

Honestly, I'd unhelpfully prefer STRING first, as Tchaikovsky is first and foremost a master of the strings. But OPERA can be my top vote for unity reasons.
