We don't really need religion from Shoot the Moon if we take Darrell's deal.
Anyway, response from Shoot the Moon:

I'd be happy to sign open borders. As a heads up, my next city is going to go on the land bridge to my NW and can act as a canal there. You are welcome to use that city and open borders to move your exploring workboat across the canal if you like, although if you do I'd ask to be kept up to date on what your workboat finds there as I do not currently have an exploring workboat out yet on that side of my continent.
I am more hesitant toward allowing you to settle on my continent, especially without having the map info or contacts at this point to see if it is realistic for me to do that on someone else's. It might be something we could return to later once we know more about the map, but at least at the moment I would not be comfortable with allowing someone else to settle on my continent. That being said, I would be willing to agree to at least talk to you guys again before (and if) I were to settle the crabs/wine spot, which is I assume the site you guys were referring to.
Darrell Wrote:Having been a GL owner that was forced to negotiate OB agreements, I have some idea for the market :-). We like the idea of religion priority quite a bit, since we do plan on building the shrine. We suggest the following:
1. Hinduism will be spread to all Straight Talker cities. Egypt will contribute in this endeavor by providing one missionary for every four built by the Straight Talkers. Egypt will contribute the first missionary to get this process started.
2. Egypt and Straight Talkers will sign open borders. To prevent Egypt from joining in an embargo, open borders should be for an extended period of time, say 50 turns. In addition, Straight Talkers will be given an auto-renew option. If this option is exercised, Straight Talkers agree to balance out commerce income with a gold exchange. Egypt can conditionally waive the gold exchange requirement for renewal, at their discretion, either as a token of friendship or in exchange for other considerations to be agreed upon at the time of renewal.
3. Straight Talkers acknowledge Egypt's right of ownership for a city on a strip of Jungle east our core. The city will only be 6 tiles from our capital, however we do not wish to unnecessarily provoke Straight Talkers over a city that might be connected to their main continent (we cannot tell even with satellite mode zooming). Should the sad day come when our differences lead to conflict, we agree no offensive shall be launched from this city location.
4. To further prove our goodwill, we will also give Straight Talkers the first opportunity to trade one of their spare happiness resources for our spare Incense resource (once we have it available for trade).
Egypt humbly apologizes for the lawyer talk in this message. We prefer straight talk, but sometimes lawyer talk is necessary.
Darrell
Proposed reply:
Quote:1. Accepted
2. Accepted
3. We acknowledge that we cannot stop you from settling 6 tiles from your capital.
4. We also require first dibs on a second spare happiness resource since your city will claim the only dyes visible to us.
Seal the deal by offering OB as soon as one of us has Writing. May our empires live long and prosper.
Played T42. Investment grew to size 5 while building a settler (8-)). After ending turn, borders expanded and revealed a bit more of our planned cows/horse city.
Our workboat took a wrong turn and is heading north. I can scroll past the dateline in the east-west direction now, but not in the north-south direction. Maybe that means we're closer to east-west than north-south circumnavigation?
Top 5 cities are ok, even though Rego has a size 6 city, the bastard.
Demographics are just plain depressing, though.
Darrell founded his fourth city this turn, we'll do the same next turn.

Quote:Thank you for agreeing to open borders - we'll offer it as soon as we have Writing. As for your stance on colonies we understand, and are happy that you're willing to discuss further when you have more information.
