Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either... smile

Amen to that. It seems to have become routine for players to hold the turn for 24 hours or more (not naming any names). The whole PBEM system is built on the trust that players will prioritize playing the game. Once the attitude of "the last guy took forever, I'm not going to rush to play my turn" starts, it's death spiral time.

I would love to get back to 1 turn/day pace.  Sorry for holding it this past day: I thought I was just showing up to my sister's wedding...and then found out I was in overseeing decorating, day-of scheduling, and emcee'ing.  younger sisters!   rolleye

I mean, I agree with both sentiments of wanting to return to 1/day or 1/2days, and avoiding a habitual pattern of holding turns.

But I disagree that what's happened lately is a failure. This is the busiest period for pretty much everyone, including me, and we're facing it with 8p. I wasn't expecting many turns for the past three weeks.

My concern is that a rubber band, after being overstretched, won't snap back to its original shape. I'd hate for one or two turns a week to become the new normal.

Heads-up that I may in the very near future be relocating literally across the country for work, and without the ability to play FFH for over a week. I should still have forums access via my phone. Time period would be around 1/17-1/25.

Good luck, Bob. I hope it works out well for you.

Having helped my daughter move about 2/3 of the way across the country, I'd share her recommendation of using a PODS (Portable On-Demand Storage, I think) unit. You pack your stuff in it, fly out to your new home, then wait for your stuff to arrive. Someone else has the dubious pleasure of spending several days driving a moving truck.

Thanks! There's still a non-zero chance I may not end up moving; I've got two competing job offers from the Feds, one which is further along in the hiring process but requires a move to the Pacific NW, the other which has a much easier move but could run afoul of a potential hiring freeze after the inauguration. Certainly going to be an interesting week.

So, Bob, any ETA on having your gaming computer back on line?

Not sure, maybe as early as tonight.
