That would be a lot of deleting. But less that you'd think due to the inflation that is legions:
...and this tells you Bacchus about my number of galleons. I don't see as strong a line in TBS' case, I think he has ~10 galleons at the moment in this late. Obviously, he's got a lot elsewhere too.
I suppose I can console myself with one thing, whoever does wind up with Old Rome is getting a lot less of an economic core that he'd hope. Here's my main in 1000AD:
It's not very improved, but it's decently tall at least.
Swallow Hill is one of the biggest cities in the world now, very much unchanged since last time I showed it off. With the Academy, library, and observatory, it's going to keep those scientists into perpetuity. I do want to grow to size 20 on a farm and plains workshop to at least build Praetorians at an okay pace. I think I'm going to make a corps of ~40 C3 Legions as my long-term defense force.
...let's ignore that crazy ambition and look at where I'm really pumping. 2t knights eternally from Dry Wood, that's the ticket. I knew these hills would serve me well. Workshops look better now, but when the Final Conflict comes I'll be back in Slavery with Police State, so mines are honest.
I did stop my Great Merchant in one GP farm to clear out things in my other near-full pool. See Splunge not building for six turns...
...so that it'll birth something before Dry Prong does...
...sad GP farm still works, at least.
Overall, my demos are unimpressive right now. I'll swing into my own 2nd (of 3) golden age once I can swap to Representation/Pacifism during the age.
I seem to be taking a bath in the imports market, eh? Commerce is better:
...but it still kinda sucks. Forbidden Palace can be begun in 5 turns.
Overseas is still fun, for what it's worth. The big North American cities are working all their resource tiles and beginning to get workshops/mines. Balancing infra with commerce needs is tricky, it's going to be a while before that can start churning out aid. A reasonable city needs to net me a C2 frigate every 3-4 turns; that requires a forge and about four mines/workshops. Speedier is just gravy of course.
...which is going to take longer with South America. TBS is getting declared on if he starts sniping crap around here. Much forest, many hammers:
But I think TBS is contenting himself with being a dick in Australia. Look at this noise.
LOOK AT IT:
Bangor and two TBS cities are sprouting next turn. It's pants-on-head retarded, and TBS is fully aware that his only argument against me just burning it all is "hand the game to Mackoti". I don't want to do that at all, but this unsustainable patchwork is the biggest, silliest powder keg I've ever seen in MP. Let me take a picture again in five turns when literally every tile here has purple or blue borders covering it. My forces in the area are two praetorians, three explorers, and four (yes, all four) knights. Holy crap this is stupid.
