Turn 58
Long delay only for more bad news.
He decided to concentrate on Longxi, which makes sense at only Str20. Especially since he got to get a good shot in for free prior to walls completing due to the mechanics snafu. Anyway, chopping the walls into Changsha no longer makes sense, as what we need is extra strength. The Horseman won't complete until start of my next turn, and I'm not sure Longxi survives that long. So, I went ahead and chopped it now.
Had to be done. It gets Longxi up to 31Str, but I kinda doubt that'll even be enough. I couldn't overflow into another Horseman in Xian thanks to the very stupid resource stockpile rules - as if Hungary wasn't OP enough.
If Longxi falls next turn, I'm going to wave the white flag on reporting and autopilot it from here on out and release you all to global lurk. I'm kinda there already because this looks totally unsalvageable, but we'll see what next turn holds.

Yeah. No question about anything - the horseman had to come out now to have any chance, but it's not really a chance at all, especially not if he has 4-move swordsmen racing our way from Bandar Brunei. Losing the overflow on the horseman is just adding insult to injury.
This rush would have killed anyone - you had equal power to Alhambram on turn 46, now his power is roughly equal to everyone else combined. No shame in going down to this - Alhambram saw an opportune civ and executed it to perfection. Maybe even well enough to warrant banning Hungary in future games (if there are future games).

GG.
As if the game needed to screw me one more time, it also decided to keep the horses under Longxi's control (????) after capture, which means I no longer have enough horses to build another Horseman, nor will I ever. Of course that's the way borders work.
And with that, this concludes my reporting of this game. Being unable to build much else, I suspect I'll be dead in the next half dozen turns, which I'm really glad for at least. Really bummed I never got to try any of the actually fun things that were on the table to try. I'm toying with the idea of joining the other Civ6 PBEM that's forming, so if I do you are all more than welcome to return for a hopefully less utterly doomed attempt. Only if Hungary is banned, though.

Really sorry this turned out tis way. I was looking forward to learning all about GS through your reporting - which was always good, right up to the end. Don't blame you for dropping it now though!
It may have looked easy, but that is because it was done correctly - Brian Moore

Man, that sucks. Thanks for the detailed reporting (and fresh eyes).
I hope future games end better for you.

Well, at least the inevitable won't take long.
Nor do I think this game will last long. Alhambram is just killing it.

It's a shame things went downhill that quickly...thanks for the reporting. Hope to see you in the next one.

Thanks, all! It was fun for a very brief time.
For posterity's sake since I can't really say this in a non-spoilery way in the tech thread: I forgot to play last night's turn, and the reason for that was seriously "the game is over in my head which made me forget that my civ is still technically alive and needs its turn played." Great work, brain.

Non-update update: Alhambram is up to 5 suzerains. Most of these have 4 envoys in them rather than just 3. I have no idea where he's getting all these envoys from. I predict we will see concessions within 20T.

The more suzerainships you have, the faster the envoy counter ticks. That means more envoys. More evoys=more suzerainships.
