Message back from darrell:

Quote:Sounds good! We did not tech Writing last turn since there was no deal in place (I held the save overnight just in case!), and would like to finish the tech we are on before going back to Writing. I still think we get it one turn before you though :-). For item #4, we'll give you dibs on the Gems from the Gems/Dye city. I am guessing the Incense will be available first though, since that site really requires Iron Working which is not in our immediate tech path. Don't spread that last bit around!

Darrell

But we already have gems, so that's no good.

Got it. And played. Offered OB to StM, he has Writing.

It looks like the settler in Investment is one hammer behind the microplan on both the actual save and the sandbox save, which means that the galley doesn't complete on T47.

Good catch. Glad to see you're checking the plan.

Should be fixable by working fish+corn in investment and cows+rice in capital on t46.

Well, I thought I would have a play with the sandbox. I should share the load... :-)

I have to say, the microplan is almost bewilderingly complicated at times - I found it quite hard to play successive turns without a mis-step because of all the tile switching.

My favourite bit so far is when Clint legs it over to put a couple of turns into the stone quarry before going back across our continent to finish off the gold mine just in time to eradicate any unhappiness that just appears that turn. Fantastic stuff.

Thank you.

I updated the plan with the T46 fix.

Two things to consider:
1. We don't really need the worker whipped in Capital on T50. We could start a settler there on T49 instead of a worker, and whip it when it's whippable, to get the settler out earlier. We could even slowbuild it at size 5 to work some yummy scientists. Our happy cap will increase a lot with gold, gems and representation, so we'll be wanting to grow our cities soonish.

2. We really would like to have the last settler from Investment ready by T54, when we'll want to revolt to Representation. One way to achieve that is to start the settler as soon as Investment hits size 4 on T50, whipping it as soon as possible and overflowing to complete the library. Speeds up the settler but delays the library. Still, I don't think the library there is urgent.
