[Spoilers] Ceterum Peter censet Carthaginem fore triumphatrix - Adrien + Miguelito

Forgot to write about the settling plan for stone city:
Despite I did it at least 3 times, I messed up the numbers, and both the spear and the settler finish one turn too late to get on the galley just in time. We're even 1h short for whipping the settler in GD (would've been unwise anyway).
So the galley will move to the tile 3 from Pfeffi, pick up the units, and head towards TOS. Now, if the zone is clear, meaning no chariots and barb meanies around, the settler can go straight on the jungle tile, which, if the barb allows it, should even be roaded (careful not to give THH strange ideas...), and found the city, the spear arriving one turn later. Otherwise it happens just one turn later, with spear cover.
That's why it's really good to have our warrior coming from Nanjing, giving sight over the area and a little extra power that might be helpful.

Also nice: Maths finished, and next turn we 1turn (!) Masonry.

I'm not concerned about a THH intervention, he accepted OB when it was clearly to our advantage so he can't be that hostile.
I like the dotmap, green dot isn't that barren if it borrows the sheep from blue dot.
The western barb warrior is a pain. Move our warrior NE next turn, and hope for a suicidal attack. BTW I blame Commodore for this.

We've got two warriors there actually, one badly injured. Both will move onto the roaded forest, and also the axe will move 1E (it's safe for the settler). We're good as long as the barb doesn't decide to move NE himself (which could be the case if his AI mission is to invade TOS, I knwo very little how the AI works)

Oh yes, totally. Pacifist barbs is mapmaker's fault mischief.

actually when I moved the axe the last turn I did indeed trust his opinion, but he said he wasn't really sur either. Anyway the way it was played was most probably the best, as everything else would have delayed the gems.

Great news of the turn:

That barbarian sucker finally did what he was supposed to do butcher2
if not seen in picture: we won smile

No galley / chariot of THH's visible, so he went east. Good.

We one-turned Masonry, saving gold next turn. Hinduism still hasn't fallen; it's two research turns - should we go for it?[/size]
I am planning to write down some thoughts on our research prospects in the evening.

Good !
Now techs are interesting. Here's how I see it :
Poly is only useful if we can get the religion. Next turn we have to save gold, so I say we should put the overflow beakers on currency and go 0% research. That way if someone gets poly turn 53 we haven't wasted beakers on a tech we're not going to research. If when t53 gets to us hindu is still hanging around we can try it. Then Currency Calendar and we'll see what the situation is like.

I agree regarding short term, with respect to mid term I've got some thoughts I'd Luke to share later

lol
I just got aware that i played the turn but forgot to send the save to mardoc. Do you have the opportunityto replay it? It's all straightforward, southern warrior goes NW, western warrior W, the two warriors on the settler NE, the axe NE, the settler SW. Galley to the tile where it can pick up spear and settler next turn. Workers on Mainland improve corn and put one turn into a road (have to stay close to get on the jungle next turn). Research on masonry. No tiles changed.
If the barb attacks the warriors eot everything's alright. If you can't play it doesn't matter, we just don't get an afternoon turn.

Done. Changed the FP hamlet at TOS to the crab, that way we grow a turn earlier. We lose 2c in the process but it's compensated by growing earlier.

Sounds good. Did you take into account that next turn we can switch off the copper tile? Anyways, I might be a little too obsessed with always working the cottage tiles. Probably often better to push fast growth.
Thank you very much!
