Kyan Rhoentach: YY OF ZZ IN XX {SPOILERS}

Interesting question.

I want the Guild of the Nine wonder and I want a golden age to change civics. I was going to cashrush the wonder and get a GP for the GA.

I think I have 1/6 of the hammers invested in the GotN and about 1000 saved gold. The GP I got was an engineer yikes.

What to do now?

Engineer rush the GotN and use the saved cash to hire mercenaries/tech? Use him for a GA and cash rush the GotN? Save the GEng for the Guild of Hammers and a free forge everywhere?

I don't think I'll get another GP to use, by the way...

Interesting...

You have civics to change? if not rush the guild and kill the world.

How many turns of anarchy by changing without a golden age?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

I think it'd cost 1t to change the civics. We are currently running conquest and aristocracy at the same time, which I don't like. I want to change either to Agrarianism (and rely on mounted mercenaries with the aristocracy commerce) or City States (and rely on HAs built with conquest).

I think I'll rush the GotN, buy some mercenaries and go conquer Tholal. Should be reasonably fun, even if I can't possibly defeat Ellimist (he has more than 20 cities, I think).

Man, Ellimist power is so, so, so high. His axemen are strenght 9! He has something like 50 cities and he's the orcs with warrens. He and HK will make a big showdoen, while I get my mercenaries murdered against Ellimist impassable defenses (powered by Nox Noctis :D).
