I would prefer quick and 24 hours turns. But that's just a fraction of a team's vote.

Just to clarify, Brick went rogue there. Team BoldXenuBrick still supports a normal timer, with the caveat that the turn timer will be sufficiently short to keep the game moving along. For the initial turn or two, a 48 hour timer is ok while people sort out initial plans based on starting terrain and want to micro plan. After that, though, let's keep it to a turn a day pace, so ~22hr on the in-game clock. The time difference is, as I understand it, due to the timer not running when players log in/out.

This is getting insanely disorganized. What we should do:

1) wait until this is moved to the PB forums
2) have all teams register and then put those teams in the OP
3) someone lists all of the various settings that we should vote on
4) have the registered teams vote on the settings

Right now different people are voting on different settings which will make deciding the final settings incredibly confusing.

The issue with blockades is that they are disproportionately powerful. A single 2-move trireme can blockade 3 tiles in every direction, even if your navy is between it and your cities and you're in a tactical stalemate.

Sry about that, I thought it was all individual votes instead of a team based vote.

What if we set the turn roll to something outside of the game?

Old faithful or similar.

What happens if I'm last in the turn order due to time zone, and play my turn early on some day or another? Next turn - request pause to get back to a normal cycle?

Happy to go with consensus, prefer agreed timer though.

I would be happier with a 24-hour effective timer and the freedom to request pauses in the tech thread. It seems to be working out ok in PB8.

Also, I agree with Oxy that we're reaching the point where we could use our own PB subforum.
