March Madness: Civ4 AI Edition

Winner: Ragnar
Runner Up: Washington
First to Die: Hammurabi
Number of Civs Surviving: 3
Victory Type and Victory Date: Domination Turn 303

Ragnar and Kublai will destroy Hammurabi handily, but Washington will have used this time to be an American counterweight against the Viking and Mongol aggression. There will be a lot of bloodshed, but Washington will hold his own until Ragnar dominates everybody on Turn 303!

It was definetly a good idea to post my predictions right after seeing the map. Looks like a lot of similar bets will be in the pool this time around. If Ragnar doesn't win the scoreboard will see quite an upset.

Also the American city names will become really confusing!

Just a reminder that the deadline for predictions for Game Five will be closing in about eight hours. We have roughly 40 entries again so far, but there's still time to get in your predictions if you haven't done so already. smile

I can't believe how far off you guys are on this! There is only one possible outcome: Ammurica.

Winner: Washington
Runner Up: Lincoln
First to Die: Saddam (Saddam = Hammurabi due to geography)
Number of Civs Surviving: Ammurica
Victory Type and Victory Date: Domination Turn 325

Thoughts on the game:

Never bet against Ammurica.

That's some fine analysis there BGN, never really considered the valid points you raised.

I didn't want to see another Ragnar pick, even if he probably is the realistic favorite. wink

Another buff to Amurrica being the winning civ is the absence of a UN vote.

For kicks, I predict Augustus will win, followed by Lincoln. Ragnar will attack Augustus early and be the first to die (to Praets). Kublai Khan will attack Hammurabi, while Washington will squander his settlers on the tundra, allowing Lincoln to claim the fertile land to his southwest. Hammurabi will hold off the squeezed Kublai Khan for a long time, and the game will otherwise be largely peaceful. Augustus will build the spaceship and win on turn 357, with four players remaining.
