No I think it's a default thing. Else it wouldn't be a DLC for my own hotseats.

Ok I'm not going to make any decisions yet, and don't want Adrien to feel sidelined because of technical glitches, but I need to understand our options. So.. if you're unspoiled and are interested in taking over Rome in this game (or better still, teaming up with Adrien), please post

Right. Here are our options
Good ones:
* Adrien finds a solution to the problem. Adrien - are you willing to keep looking? Won't blame you for giving up, this has to be frustrating...
* Someone takes over Rome. I don't know if there are unspoiled players who have interest in Civ5, but one can hope
* Chumchu adjusts the map for 5 players. Chumchu - can this be done with minor changes or would it be a complete rework?
Worse ones:
* We scrap the GMR route and play this using Civ5's built-in PBEM support. This would mean playing on a random map
* We replace Adrien with AI (or just remove Rome from the game and play without changes to the map). This is likely to be severely unbalanced
* We accept a spoiled sub for Adrien. Not ideal, considering we all posted what presumably are our early game plans in our threads, but could be acceptable
* We cancel the game. While cancelling Civ5 send-off PBEM due to the game's technical problems would be a fitting end, I don't want to go there yet
Thoughts?

I don't mind trying something else to fix it, but I'm completely out of ideas. What if someone started a duel game with a normal map and sent me a turn, to see if it's a general problem or a problem specific to this game ?

For this one, it doesn't matter to me. Especially since I haven't made any plans in my thread. So other than my starting screenshot, that's about it. lol

I sent you a save from a fresh hotseat game I created. I just realised Civ5 actually doesn't have native support for PBEM at all?!?

I couldn't open your save. It's even more depressing than if it was only a GMR problem

I have a feeling this has something to do with a combination of non-English Windows/DirectX/video drivers/something else. Not particularly helpful, but the fact that you can open your own saves but can't open ours points at version incompatibility, and there can be no other difference I can think of...

Note that after the first crash I changed my civ 5 language to English just in case. I have no idea if it did anything. Beyond that it's true that my windows is in French and it could have an impact.

Is Adrien the only one of us using a non-English version of the game?
