What's the deal with all the scientists? Are we planning to get GPs from AO and TH?

Pretty sure I mentioned this in the turn report, but once again:
* Mansa's Muse is producing our Great Person for the Golden Age.
* Tree Huggers can work a Scientist or a bare grassland tile (2/0/1). Cottage completes there next turn, and it's the same time until growth (3t) regardless of whether we work grassland this turn or Scientist. I think the Scientist is better than a bare grassland.
* Adventure One works Scientists because it has no other improved tiles to work. We were going to have a non-river plains cottage for it to work, until we lost a worker to the magical teleporting barb axe. Something had to give, and I slowed down the improvement rate of low importance tiles at the capital like the non-river plains. All of the other eligible tiles are either unimproved (plains hills, flatland plains) or needed by other cities (FP needs the plains hill mine, MM needs the deer, HF needs the corn and lake tiles to hit its +9 food growth target for this turn).
Again, I do think that I already wrote all of this in the turn report earlier...

Let me rephrase.
Scientists are REALLY incredibly bad tiles if the GPP won't be used. We should prefer bare grasslands and even plains tiles unless the city in question will produce a GP.

I'm not surprised by CivPlayers building of AP. I actually was expecting it as soon as I saw them get Theology. I know many people supposed they researched it for theocracy, but I still believe that the main goal (and this is somewhat supported now with AP being built) was AP for hammers, religious 'sanctions', and a possible AP victory. I think its also possible they might attempt to get UoS and Spiral Minaret for a full fledged Monk economy. On a huge map like this with Sac alters for easy whipping of temples and monasteries I could see this as part of their plan going forward. I also just want to keep an eye on their AP victory progress, just in case.
EDIT: Heh I should have finished reading the report beyond the first line before posting, since your conclusions are similar to mine Sullla.

Agree with Seven, a scientist just for the 3 beakers and not GPP or Representation is terrible, take the grassland instead. The two food will have the city grow sooner someday, if not on this next growth.

Alright then, I swapped off the Scientist at Tree Huggers since the consensus seemed to want the grassland tile instead.
I've left the Scientists in the capital, since we do have a relatively decent chance of producing a Great Person there someday. None of the 7 teams that we have contact with right now have researched Literature tech as yet, and we'll be in a position to take a shot at Great Library in the capital with the Bureaucracy + Organized Religion + Golden Age combination. It's probably worth the attempt if the wonder is still sitting there in 8-10 turns, and all indications right now are that it will be. I'd prefer to work the Scientists over the 1/1 plains tiles on the chance that we'll eventually land the wonder and produce another Great Person down the road.

New turn! CFC ended their turn with 18 hours left on the timer, and I was logged in at the time
The barb warrior entered the forest next to Lew.
CFC completed the Pyramids. We got a free spread of Hinduism in Simple Life. Screenshotting and taking notes for C&D right now.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

There is also a barb warrior 1N of Sian (our scouting W2 axe), that I think we should kill. We get 99.88% odds.
