Aiming for a quick campus. No cows or sheep around. No AH.
Copper could argue for Mining, but as I am going settler after the warrior, no need as well. Might be a stupid move.
Turn 3
I think going for a quick settler is vindicated. Both excellent tiles (deer and spices) are however in the 2nd ring at the current place. To buy them with gold is the question. I could settle on the rice, which I personally dislike in SP, but this is MP after all.
And our turnrate broke down on turn 3. Yayifications. I am going to abstain from the public thread this time around.
Turn 5 and Turn 6
I continue to move the warrior west. Not much else to report, apart from me checking the scores and fiddling my thumbs. The current pressing question is to move north or south along the mountains.
Turn 8
Things get rolling. The 2nd warrior is done and strides E. The initial warrior continues W, probably circling back south and east by the mountain range, but we will see. Ignore Rome´s score. It is the monument, civics and some era score. We have 8.
Turn 9
I went on a quick google dive. What happens to food overflow in case of a built settler. I have a brain fart. Do I need to time the settler with getting pop 3? Anyway, exploration continues and I start a settler. No CS which worries me massively.
When a settler is built it will deduct one population from the city. The city then checks for pop growth - if there's enough food in the basket to grow a population it does so. For example, if your city is at 3 population and 26 you'll have a pop 3 city with 2 in the basket when the settler completes. If you have a 3 population city with 22 when the settler completes you'll have a 2 population city with 22 in the basket.
What I don't know/recall is whether the growth check is triggered by the settler or if it's last in the start of turn city processing sequence (I think it is, but don't quote me on that ) As a result I don't know what happens if you chop-complete a settler with enough food in the basket to immediately regrow the city.
Sending units to their death since 2017.
