So first of all. This bug is not related to my last fix with decaying hammers, because it also exists in base BtS. Can I post instructions how to reproduce it in the mod thread? I doubt it will spoil anything for other players.

You can. It's fine. I didn't know you had already fixed the decaying hammers bug. Definitely not in this mod version.

Edit: Does it only trigger if you hit the exact turn it fully decays?

You can find my explanation here. https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/show...#pid769966

Yes, you are right that the other decaying hammer fix is not in this version of the mod. And you are also right that it only triggers if you hit the exact turn it fully decays.

EDIT: Be proud of you. You found one of those "needle in the haystack" bugs.

Thanks for the confirmation. Since it only triggers on that one turn I can work around it.

Jowy does assemble a numid stack on my borders so the prebuilt spear could potentially be useful. lol But only if things go south in an exceedingly unlikely manner. (To be clear I am not asking for a bugfix.)

Jowy made peace with me and is now shifting his horsies over to the other side to annoy Amicalola. I sent Amicalola a warning via an ai diplo message he may or may not understand.

@Charriu: Try the following. 2-pop whip a settler (4->2) in some city and note the overflow. Then do the same again (same hammers invested into settler and same tiles worked) at 24/28 food in the food box, note the overflow.

I assume this is without IMP? I'm not around my PC right now, so what does happen?

It seems in the latter case you lose 2 production. Probably because the game thinks you could not possibly have grown while building a settler and thus subtracts two more food from the total foodhammers available to feed that phantom citizen. Now one could argue this is reasonable behavior but the interface does lie to you in the turn the settler is whipped.

Just tested it in base BtS. You don't even need the first whip. The whip from 4->2 pop with 24/28 food in is already enough to trigger this. Great find. It's on my todo list.

The first whip was just for comparison. I suppose I should trust you to calculate the overflow in the second case so the first one is not needed. mischief
