Best game on Realms 2020

I enjoyed playing PB52 and it seemed an interesting game overall. Haven't lurked much though so I don't know how it compares.

I'm surprised PB49 hasn't come up more. Do you guys generally prefer to lurk diplo, or non-diplo, games?

Diplo games aren't really Civ, the Civ is just where the diplo plays out. The first couple times its a novelty but we had full or almost full diplo on for like the first 20-something PBEMs and realized we were better off without it. They do make some epic moments PB2 and PBEM3 leap to mind immediately, but eh. I'd much prefer a game like PB53 where there's loads of chaos specifically because there's no diplo than tech-trading blocs and the like where the guy who wins in just the one who manages the diplo pile best. And I say this as someone who generally is pretty good at diplo.

PB48 diplo was pretty limited after the first 50ish turns and then it just became a game of civ with a few desperate messages here and there. The alliances set early and tech trading almost all prenegotiated

Well, playing in PB 43 was interesting to say the least. I do agree with Charriu`s points earlier that a game that actually produces a winner is a good game. Also, Mr. Cairo deserves a ton of credit for finding a way of improving late game warfare. Civ 4 has been played a lot on Realms Beyond but it`s unfortunate (but certainly understandable) that most games are called before Tanks enter the battlefield. It can be a massive time sink indeed.
