Invasion on laz did not work, he did not have slavery but managed to get exactly the right number of units each turn. I definitely lost hammers, but probably only around 90? Probably will pivot to ramk

This map shape is confusing now that i think about it - I hit charriu from the south, when I thought he was on the same continent as me? I really want circumnav, but I feel like my workboats aren't gonna meet soon. Is the reuirement simply that if you draw a vertical line down at every point on the map, you eventually hit an explored tile?

Yes, that is how circumnavigation works on a cylindrical map. If the map is toroidal, you need a visible tile in each row, too.

Getting pretty close to circumnav, but im probably super late on that train.
Revenge for pb51? Not really, more like lazteuq has doubly-promoted spears and charriu is a non-entity. Realpolitik.
Doing great on my continent, but we're clearly the kiddie table. If I can get at least half of Ramk and courthouses up from organized soon, I should be able to pop off. Still have to settler that horse city eventually btw.
Also based on my tech tree, it doesnt seem like im horribly behind.
Will probably use scientist on a golden age. I'll want to adopt religion, etc.

BLOOD FOR THE LURKERS
Can't say it was the best trade, I hoped for better RNG. Down 95 hammers, but if I factor in the cost of the settler, I can pretend that was an even trade!!!
I burned the city because imp = can quickly rebuild settler, and I didn't want to deal with potential recapture. I have no clue what Ramk has in the fog, and even with my 10 keshiks and 10 more in reserve, I am wary after Pb56 experiences.
The capture gold means I can do construction immediately, which is awesome. I probably want to quickly whip out about 3-4 war elephants (aka big chungi) in order to deal with Laz in case he decides to take a stab at me.
Got a great general, which I settled in my main military production city. Still 1 xp off that coveted 3rd promotion. Maybe I should rush for theocracy? Though I feel like that's excessive.
Misclick last turn made my worker go to the wrong tile, so combat infrastructure will lag. not a huge problem w/ keshiks, but can't get my token axeman to the front.
(BTW, in my horribly maneuvered war against Laz, he could've easily wiped my stack had he put a bit of elbow grease into it. One axeman isnt shit, but the psychology of combat odds tends to get some players. I noticed him in a live game I played against him, where he could've crushed me, but hesitated. I then used this to my advantage to snowball into an extremely dominant position.)
Renamed my cities to Barbar<n>. Feels appropriate given my civ and all.
Also need to pick my next target. Going down the coast is tempting, as he has a city not on a hill. However, I have a lurking suspicion that if I were to take that city, MJMD might in a fit of greed backstab me with his fleet. (Oh what big galleys you have! The better to pillage you with, my dear.)
I feel like going for the jugular may be the way to go, however there's also the option of plowing directly into some hapless core cities. Kalahari, gobi, and hulun-bir can be forked, but not before first spooking the capital.

By the way, Ramk offered 30 gold (PER TURN) for peace. I'm going to leave the discussion of the psychological implication of this for the lurkers, but ^^ post should explain my line of thought pretty clearly.

Will post update once I get a chance to play. I swear if MJMD signs peace with Ramk I will find a way to attack him.

We do a little trolling. Got some mega-high-roll RNG, lost 1 keshik, got a spear and an axe, damaged another spear to 0.2 hp. If ramk has a stack behind the spear, i'll use a few units, but i have keshiks to counterattack.
I really want to end this ramk war, consume him with MJMD (with whom i think i can get great relations), and then eat laz as mjmd eats charriu. (I have the much harder task).
Not doing so horrible for someone so zoned out of the game they havent gotten their first great person yet. I'll have to run so many mixed pools....
Laz getting an edge worries me. He's up on machinery. I beat xbows +spears with C1Shock WE, but I'm not sure I outproduce him. Hopefully he goes after charriu.
Ramk killed one of my exploring workboats.
how much farther do i have to go for circumnav, ffs.
CoL next turn. I get cheap courthouses which is great, so I can get some EP's distributed and maintenance reduced. If I can get Ramk's capital, get about 6-7 cities from him, I should be a solid mid-game competitor. After CoL, I'm probably going to go for feud and then pivot to machinery + guilds. Pop a golden age for religion + OR maybe and to rush guilds?

What I really need is to know how MJMD is doing. Here's the dilemma:
1. Attack lazteuq -> laz is nearing longbows but has no units ready, so I could snipe two cities potentially.
2. Attack Ramk -> Laz will be nearing maces and can attack me
3. Tech guilds and wait things out. I'm actually decently close to guilds, and should be able to start pumping knights in 7-8 turns. At that point, I don't care about Ramk's outdated units.
How does MJMD figure into this?
Well if he can hold out for 5 more turns, I will attack Ramk and hopefully take at least one city. If MJMD is starting to lose, Ramk is overextended and I should double down. But if MJMD is somewhere in the middle, and Ramk isn't comitting, I will be once again in the unenviable position of maneuvering between stacks of spears and catapults.
Also, how much longer can circumnavigation take, damn it!!!

Guilds in 5, Laz gets them in three turns (unless he turned his slider on max for show...)
Traded maps with mackoti, but shockingly that is not enough for circumnav - this map is way stranger than I anticipated. I thought there would be a pentagon of pentagons. And I see only four of them!!!
My stack is crawling to Ramk, we'll see how much success I have on this second attempt.
5 war elephants, 2 axes, a few cross bows, 7 catapults, and most importantly, 21 keshiks.
As my stack marches, I wonder - do I strike for the coastal city of Hulun Buir, trying to get a better foothold, or do I go for the jugular, taking Aralkum?
I could split my stack, sending 15 keshiks towards Aralkum and try to take it the very next turn, as the rest of my stack goes for Hulun Buir?
