enjoy the game!

There is much too like about settling in place. The capital is a great defensive position. Plains hills means 2f/2p in the city itself and coupled with another 2f/2p tile to work this is ideal.
The lost forest is unfortunate.

Settling on the maize could be interesting, giving me 2 gold off the bat and then working the incense for a shot at an early pantheon. Also it brings the geothermal vents closer to a campus.
A Seowon on the hills 2 west could very good, but it involves going BW before that, possibly giving up district boni along the line.

With that much production an eagle warrior rush could very well be a possibility though. Hmm.

Seems I really only talk with myself here.

I am starting to think the right play here is Zulu or Korea with a Unique District. I dislike the lack of a river for a commercial hub.

The lack of chopables is a problem for a rush.

Hmm, should I repeat one of my civs? I am really reconsidering Japan..

No river, no germany.

I remember why I hate Free Pick.

- Possibility overload.
- It really comes down to some of the best civs in the end anyway.
- Much more agonizing.

After I scrolled up and down the civ list and ignoring the banned ones I think I am decided.

- I doubt I can pull of a rush with this capital. Not enough choppable resources.
- CS conquest will be tedious.
- Map edits obvious, jungle grasslands.
- Kaiser dislikes aggression from his reports and my personal experience.

I have to take builder civ.

Sigh. rolleye

So, Korea, Red America or Cree.

KOREA it is.

Turn 1

We will now find out how bad I really am at playing Bob the Builder.

Upon Startup I notice that I am on the western edge of the map. Peculiar do we have an inland sea map? No time to waste going the direction the warrior stands, we go east after we settle in place.

I start a warrior for scouting purposes, not a slinger or a scout. Scouts continue to disappoint in a MP environment as the villages for XP are missing. Scouts only shine with the movement bonus on hills. A warrior can handle a barb camp with discipline a slinger struggles.

Secondly, only 2 ressources make sense to improve short term, the maize and the amber, the deer only brings in gold. This results in settler before builder being the superior choice.

So plan is: warrior->builder(1t)->settler->finish builder->settler. I want to rapidly expand and get as many seowons going as fast as possible.

In the same vein I start pottery first with an eye on getting writing as early as possible, which will be researched next.

The next priority is the government plaza, as Korea has a bonus to governors.

No Hypatia, Marcopolothefraud settled in place. So far so good.

For after the game for Thrawn:

Ah, now I know why you wanted:

- You can place districts on any resource which will remove it and allow you to place the district. Settling on a resource doesn't remove it. You can also harvest everything with a builder. Those resources improved by farms and pastures yield food, those by mines yield production, and those by plantations and camps yield gold.

Germany, eh? Sneaky.

I briefly considered Helgedad as my capital, but I will keep that sheme for a warmongery PBEM.

Anyway, the warrior moves. The tilepicker chooses the amber which is kind. The first GS is useless.

And I am feeling like a Lone Wolf without the Lurkerati.

I try to do at least 1 picture per turn, so you can follow along.

Genlurker here, but watching with interest!

Also watching. Restrictive rb rules preclude any global lurker comment that is not banal. Since I don't know Civ6 well anything I could say would likely be beside the point anyway.
