Actually instead of experiments I'll go with societal-scale psychological concepts such as filial piety, assabiyah, etc

looks like a good 2nd city site already, where the scout is. I'm a fan of getting a free hammer from plains-hills.
Capital has plenty of food, we might want a second city to share it, perhaps sharing the fish? Still need to see more land to get a good dotmap.
"I know that Kilpatrick is a hell of a damned fool, but I want just that sort of man to command my cavalry on this expedition."
- William Tecumseh Sherman Just realised that using this screen, I can infer that, I think, three players have a hinterland capital, three have four water tiles in capital BFC (including me), and one has two water tiles in BFC. Also that the tile I'm working a two-food two-hammer elephant grassland forest, is below average food and above average hammers, nothing surprising there.
With CtH mod, you can press Alt-X to enter dotmapping mode and place future city locations instead of having to do it in paint.
And you can hide that layer with CTRL+X

Decisions made:
1) the scout I'll send back to the northeast, since I'll probably be settling in that direction because of the excellent city2 location (and city4 will probably be settled after that depending on what I see). In contrast there's some desert and incense to the northwest of my cap which is a bit meh in comparison. 2) Decided to go double fishing boat, people say it's frowned on now, but while there's some things I can take on faith, others I'd like to make my own mind up in due course. And having CHA does make a slant towards early pop growth more value I'd think. After that a worker, maybe with a warrior beforehand for paranoia easing, or part of a warrior to grow before starting the worker. 3)Decided to research Mining-Bronze Working next. SO far I have the Wheel, Hunting, and Fishing, so I guess I could've gone Animal Husbandry, but that'd only be useful for building 1 pasture once the worker arrives, whereas the mining-Bronze Working route has more broad use like seeing copper, chopping, etc. |
