You know, one of my best games ever here was done with Victoria of Mali  The Mint was deceptively good in that game despite not picking IND to boost it, just to let me push up a little more out of the economy while I leaned on Vicky's traits.
EDIT: Actually it was Victoria of Sumeria. Huh, well I still feel like she's a good with Mali
Mali is one of my favorite civs, but I keep picking India over for speed lol. The idea with Mali is its good no matter the # of tiles / player. If its tight I have to suck it up and tech archery. Either way get the mint. Like I said probably pair with Financial. I'm very fine living my stereotype and picking Victoria with  .
Org Rome is more offensive though..........

Seems like we just really want to go burn some cities with Praetorians 
And really, that's how I approach my picking process. If there's a civ I want to play with or a unit I want to use, then let's pick Rome and go for the best way for getting those Praets out. I would guess ORG/EXP or ORG/IMP - something to help get the early economic game going and give us the option of either rushing someone or developing peacefully. Possibly ORG/CHA even, but I think early hammers might be more important for keeping options open on a praet push.

Going to pick Mali, I think I like going Vicky Imp/Fin, but I could see Cha/Fin Hannibal as well.

Ok Pin. I'm actually super up in the air on this. If its tight I would want Vicky. If its looser I think Charismatic would be better. Therefore I'm letting you pick either Vicky or Hannibal (I'm very slightly leaning Vicky to live the Mjmd / Pin team up), but I will go by whatever you think!

Man, how can I pick against Vicky? Also, the risk of being wrong on picking a slower CHA/FIN leader on a small map is worse than being wrong on a larger map with IMP/FIN. So I think I have to say Vicky.

Heh playing as Portugal I was nervous about that combo when I had no clue what the map looked like / things happening.
Agree with your Vicky logic. Might try to pick up Judaism after fishing and pottery for some additional happy.

Also, the downside to our pick is popping borders easily, which getting Judaism will solve

I know a lot of people are going to do pick analysis now that all picks are in, but those people are stupid. There is a lot of betting and hedging going on for how tight this map is, so until we see tiles / player to at least get an idea of how tight, analysis is useless. Mind PB60 proved tiles / player can be deceptive, but still will at least give a base impression on how good or bad somethings are. That being said in relation to the above:
Superdeath: Boudicca of Rome (feel free to sub in Cyrus of Mongolia or mostly Khan of Sumeria here as well) - "One of these things is not like the other"
Naufragar: Pericles of the Netherlands - "One of these things doesn't belong"
