Yeah, that is a possibility.  I could see it being a production center in the mid-game if I keep some forests around for lumbermills.  For instance, if I save all the 2nd ring plains forests then I can get 19hpt at size 7 with lumbermills.

And if you refuse to cottage or farm the plains you might even get additional forest growths over the course of the game
(I actually considered this in PB68, but then caste workshops were very good)

I know its not in spirt of CtH but I wonder for RtR if forests if left alone and unimproved for long enough start increasing their chance of spread.

Anyways, where is the player analysis? I need opinions of these very very changed combos. Right now I'm mainly indifferent to what people got.

Forest growth already!

Here's another radical idea I've been thinking of since I've been leaving a couple of my PB69 tundra forest tiles alone: how about if we give the lumbermill increased spread? Like forestry efforts. But then that negates what makes the preserve special a bit. The preserve is just so darn far into the tree, though...

Met Krill on his t5 and then he ran off to keep me from seeing where he came from on his t6. Lucky guy also popped a hut for a tech, so I missed out on something nearby.




Which means he did not likely come from the southeast, because I don't think huts clump up like that. Also, he would stick around to grab that one too if he had seen it. So he either came from the east where my scout was in the mountains (unlikely), or he came from my west (more likely).

Sending my scout back to check out the hut as well as the sheep down here. It looks like Japan is going to be a nation of herders.

Krill met me a couple turns back and at first I thought it was telling me I had 4 more EP than him - which would make sense if he had met someone else, put his EP allocation 100% towards them, and then met me. But it's saying he has 4 more EP than me. Since he's the first person I've met this shouldn't be possible. And yet, there it is

I wonder if there's something screwy with turn order resolution at end of turn in simultaneous games going on.

I think this is an artifact of Pitboss (not necessarily a bug, but an order-of-operations result of the pitboss turn order processing). I suspect the following:

1. EP gets calculated prior to culture border pops.
2. You rolled randomly ahead of Krill in the turn processing on the turn that you met.
3. Your EP was calculated (you hadn’t met anyone yet), then the borders popped giving you contact with Krill, then Krills turn processed and his EP calculated based on now having contact with you after your had borders popped.
