[PB75 Mjmd] Call to Power

The only thing I'd add is that island access, especially to post-Astronomy "treasure islands", made it impossible to stop Plemo. At first we made fun of him picking East Indiamen, but then I had to double bulb Astronomy and whip C3 Galleons on defense, while he got to capture barb cities that looked like this :S (yes, those are 7-food flood plains ice corn tiles)

Your revised start:

Keep in mind that anything outside of the BFC is fair game to be changed. So in this case, don't count on the grassland cow being there in the final version. It might be, I have no idea at this point.

Ya I was wondering about that forest on the deer and then it looks like I lost 2 more forests. The actual most interesting thing is that the river changed direction. And importantly its in direction of two of my food now!

Figured I should let your worker be able to do stuff before BW. Actually, I think that was Tarkeel's input

After simming I came to the undoubtedly correct conclusion that I am utterly stupid for wanting to do Neb. Wanting myst early is SOOO bad here. Zara or Williem of actual good civ SHOULD be the pick. This is why I announced what I would be doing straight away by the way; so I couldn't back out........

0% shocked Nauf took America. Rusten posted in the mod thread some time ago but after he signed up to be ded lurker that he didn't understand how that UB had made it into the changelog. He then deleted that post.

Two civs down and one wants to go priesthood early and other wants GP points. Neb looking great so far!  shakehead

All for Me Grog PB59. Ended up being a very abused city whip wise. Luckily never really grew into unhappiness because some of its whips were for settlers and was my primary city responsible for replacing all my razed ones!

So I was trying to prove to myself that there wasn't a correct pick and I might as well do the fun thing. IE do India skip AH and do BW first then AH. T38 stonehenge along with a T33 settler and then a T42 settler. Tried creative Zulu and even tried Khmer, but I kept running into the trouble that BW is never done on time if you do AH first (and no the extra random cleared grassland on way to ivory doesn't really help as you don't have pop to work anyways). IE its better to do BW first and if you are going to do that anyways might as well do India. BUT then my brain went wait a second-ma-doodle I've had a high hammer start recently in PB66. So I tried imp zulu like that game and still wasn't quite lining up. Then I actually looked back at that game and realized I went wheel before mining / BW. THAT is the correct pick here. Replay imp zulu with early wheel. Probably Julius again, but on monarch Victoria looks pretty sexy too especially with this capital.

NO forests are used and future settlers just roll of the line every 5 turns even easier than PB66 (that game once I gave away rice I was less than 20 hammers but this one even without the wheat I have 20). T29 first settler, T41 2nd and then just keep adding 5. Downsides are no border pop and almost 0 chance of religion. Upsides are that it is fast. I don't have to compete for Oracle and Mids / build a ton of other wonders (India gets the T38 stonehenge easy unless Rickety doesn't expand). I get actual econ trait along with actual econ civ.

But I did say I would do Neb..... But its 10 people and Neb is a BAD pick..... But it is a good India start....... But I do love going fast and Zulu are REALLY good. I'm highly tempted to flip a coin or let me kids roll dice  Rolldice

I know my Magic the Gathering history got 1 vote, but listen I know why I'm having trouble here. In Magic I built my own decks, which usually means you don't do well. However, I did pretty well with them. BUT most of my competitive decks weren't THAT far out there (at least in my mind). They had a solid plan and a good sideboard (usually some speed variant of midrange aggressive). They weren't trying to do something too fancy. FNM (IE weekly for fun play at local shop) I would do super weird decks occasionally that weren't competitive, but when I went to compete I brought a deck to compete that I thought WAS competitive. It wasn't a net deck, but neither did I go in knowing I would lose because of the deck (luck / my skill sure).

I KNOW Neb of India isn't a winning pick here. The amount of time these games take its super hard taking something you know isn't good. Its not that it wouldn't be fun and I like doing off meta fun things BUT that are competitive. I thought I could go into it and not care this game as I've had some good games recently, but moment of decision I don't know.
