I think I never realized this due an AI bug. You can blind a 200 stack AI unit and if you get say 50 units the whole stack sits there. You get some units ever time.

Darrell darrelljs Wrote:Does Entangle suffer the same problem? Yes. It looks from my tests that Entangle is identical in effects to Blinding Light(except Entangle is harder to resist, but doesn't affect flying units). A unit that has been blinded and a unit that has been entangled are both treated the same way. Quote:I think I never realized this due an AI bug. When some units have been hit by movement affecting spells it just doesn't move them at all. PBEM is basically the one format where Entanglement and Blinding Light are somewhat balanced. The AI can't handle it at all. Humans in a simultaneous turn game make it an exercise in reflexes, but can potentially lock units down forever. In PBEM against humans it keeps a unit held for a single turn, which is a useful but not overpowered effect, perfect for a level two spell.
Would you mind putting that in spoilers Ichabod? It stretches the page for me and I'll probably be referring back to the first page a bit over the course of this game.
Freshly arrived to this new realm Titania, mistress of the Unseelie, surveys her surroundings. With great haste search parties quickly scout out the immediate area. And the court of Faerie is founded in the centre of the glade. It has luscious fruits to feast on or to make into fine elven wine. Wild boars living in the forests on which the young hunters could practice their craft. Most importantly of all for Titania, it contained an ample supply of reagents with which to further her magical experiments. The young scout Sprig was set to guard the capital as the ancient chants were sung to completion, the better to prepare the education of the new fae who would flock to the city. Titania and Thistle were to meet on the outskirts of Faerie. Soon they would be riding out on a tide of fear and fire. The preparations had begun for the Wild Hunt. When the hunt was finished, the world would be aflame. ![]()
There is a small problem with this opening save. The Svarts have two scouts. The Ljosalfar do start with two scouts, but the Svartalfar keep the standard scout+warrior opening. A warrior would be marginally preferable for my purposes, but it isn't a huge deal.
Settled in place, due to it being a pretty nice location. A good amount of early forests will be helpful, and I can see a few good city sites already. the entire immediate area looks very food rich. Early tech priority is education, unless you disagree Darrell. We start with agriculture so I've gone worker first. It's almost mandatory for the elves to go worker first, because they are so slow starting. Accordingly I've left one of the scouts at home to look after things, in case of early trouble. Luckily there are no lizard ruins around. Obviously a warrior would be better suited to this duty. Thistle and Titania will be moving together in an operation codenamed "Wild Hunt". The plan is for Titania to move in a wide circle around the opening base laying forest fires. Thistle is there for protection from animals, and to spot tricksy little spiders. The first resort will be to run away from any trouble with haste.
The grand list of potential names of a Faerie Theme. Open to suggestions.
City names. Unit names. The names of plants and small animals will be used for early units. Later/more powerful units and particularly Arcane units I will try to find unique names for. This should be easier than for cities, as there is a list here that will keep me stocked for a good while, and diving into Greek mythology for the Nymphs, Norse Mythology for the Valkyries and fairy tales for a selection of trolls, goblins and bewitched mortals should pick up any slack.
You didn't like the name I gave to the adept?
![]() I sent you a save with a fix. Hope it reached you in time. Selrahc Wrote:The grand list of potential names of a Faerie Theme. Open to suggestions. If you're willing to consider a more modern interpretation of Faerie, Jim Butcher has some extensions/variants to various Faerie locations and fairies.

What would be some good names for cities from the Dresden files? I'll add them to the list. Selrahc Wrote:Sure. What would be some good names for cities from the Dresden files? Stone Table - place of power Chicago-over-Chicago - a temporary battleground created by the Fae. Might be a bit too modern to fit the rest of your scheme. Demonreach - an island Undertown - creepy magical area under Chicago I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting now.
