I'm probably going to miss this Tuesday as well, so I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do. Not sure about the next few weeks either... Basically, the whole month of November is a giant question mark for me. I should be able to stay up late this Friday though, so I can get quite a bunch of work done then so I'm not that far behind when I can finally rejoin.

Tuesday, November 15th, Sanskirt Nuddhist is going out frog shopping. Why frogs? I'll let Sanskirt (SS) answer that.
SS: I need my weekly witch's brew, or else I begin sprouting Moa bird feathers all over. The real reason I'm a Nuddhist is because at any given moment, I transform into a Moa Bird. Fault of my parenting, or rather, lack of. I was raised by Moa birds. My real parents must've been too lazy and uncaring to raise me myself, or eaten by Moa's. Ever since puberty, and that incident with my moa cousin (which I will not talk about here), I sprout feathers without my witch's treatments.
Don't you think your fellow nudists would enjoy seeing you feathered up?
SS: Don't you understand what nudism is about? They'd be horrified if they saw me feathered. It is worse than wearing armor, and it gets clogged in everything. If I tried to heal, (which I don't, but if I did) feathers would pop up into their wounds. Swords? Don't make me laugh. It'd be feather covered too. What am I going to do? Tickle the enemy to death? That only works on White Mantle.
So why tonight? Aren't you missing a venture with your nudist buddies? Won't they miss your (lack of) healing?
SS: I normally visit my frog supplier on Mondays, and mondays only. She rescheduled.
You can't catch a frog yourself?
SS: Ick! The witch does all the hard work. She constantly tells me how she worms her way into frog nests, skins the frogs, purees their eyes, and brine their innards, and dehydrates them, until its ground up with a mort and pestle for the end product. No way am I going to do that by hand! Not on my skin. The end beauty product is great, but slogging through all that slime is not my idea of fun. Besides that, I think she uses zombie frogs. I don't want to know how she does acquires those... things.
There you have it, SS is off to buy frogs. Weak excuse, or Beauty necessity? You decide.
(I won't be able to make it tonight (Nov 15), but this should be a fun GW journal upload)

This has been a really hectic month for me, and is likely to continue to be so... I'm not sure when I'll be able to get back into the sway of things, and I don't know when I'm going to be able to play GW for more than a few minutes. Sorry, but I might not be able to make it again until early-mid December. I have this strange feeling that by then we'll have left Ascalon and be well underway into the Northern Shiverpeaks, so if I do somehow get a chance to play sometime between now and then, I'll try to do some catchup work.

My work schedule has increased due to the holiday season coming up.
The AoE change reallly bummed me out initially and made me want to pursue more RL endeavors. I put too much time into GW.
Don't know how much I'll be able to be on...but I will be around.

So we were talking last week that we should do the Nolani mission or hitchhike to Yak's Bend. I think we are all at Nolani anyway, if not, show up early and we can help you get there.
Once we reach Yak's we can have a party size of 6 which would accommodate all the nudist most of the time. We can wrap up Ascalon quests we missed when there are less than 4 nudist on (at a time).
Show up early if you can, so we can get to Yak's and still have time for some fun as a large group kicking yaks

I should actually make it tonight (first time in a month, yay). As you might imagine, I'm not quite up to Nolani yet, still stuck at Surmia, and ready and willing to plow through to Yak's. I have to type a paper for tomorrow, but it's only 6-8 pages, so that shouldn't get in the way, unless it makes me a bit late due to not watching the clock (or I'm in the middle of a thought process).

Ok, so now that I've got the news thingy working (thanks KoP!), I decided to test it out by posting a fictionalized version of Tuesday's gathering. I've been experimenting with different writing styles, so any feedback about the style or story is welcome.

Good for you for jumping in and posting a writeup! I definitely didn't want to become the Official Chronicler of the Nudists, stifling other folks' take on our adventures. (I do plan to post more, and I'll pick up along my established story line, but I don't think that ought to be any sort of a hindrance to anyone else's creative efforts.)
Overall, I think you did a good job of condensing down what we did, and putting it into a logical and readable narrative. If I may offer a bit of constructive criticism (and I'm interpreting your post to mean that you want critical feedback), I'd say the major thing is to Beware the Shifting POV (Point of View). The way you've written it, we see things from nearly all of the characters' POVs, and that makes it a bit hard for the reader to identify with the "main character." It's easier on the reader to just have the story filtered through one character's eyes; if it's absolutely necessary to tell the tale from multiple POVs, make sure that the transitions are well-marked and that each POV makes a substantial contribution to the story. I have fiction-writing friends who've drummed that into my head; who knows how much success I have...J.K. Rowling I am NOT!
Cheers,
Hawkmoon

I am no critic so I just have to say I enjoyed it
The more people write about a game, the more people will (want to) get involved. This is how it works. We have to lure the lukers!
Thanks for the write up! It complements Hawkmoon's journal nicely.
PS: I moved the entry to under the Nude Beach category, where the Nudist Journal resides
