A brief history of Victor Anton Serintino, a.k.a. Viaseri:
Victor had never had an easy life. After the Stormwind nobility refused to pay for the construction work he had poured his blood into and his partner, Edwin Van Cleef , began the now infamous Defias Brotherhood; Victor refused to join.
The nobility had let them complete their work, then shunned them without pay. Many nights were spent poring over maps and coming up with strategies but he could simply not find a reasonable alternative. Well, not good enough to persuade Edwin out of his dastardly plans anyway. He was declared an outcast and a bounty was placed on his head.
Years went by and Feralas had proven to be a seclusive enough spot for any rogue to hid in. Safe at last. Home, perhaps? Unfortunately, it was not to be so easy. Loneliness haunted his every step. He caught beasts of every shape and size and cooked himself great feasts. Himself. Alone. Seeing all that good food going to waste simply because he had nobody to share it with was the worst thing. As he stalked Yeti's through the jungles, even the Yeti's had family and, if not friends, at least an innate feral understanding of belonging. Perhaps everyone is born with such a longing? It got too much.
This may be living, but it was not a life. Victor eventually decided to leave and visited Astranaar. His timing could not have been worse. The caravan was ambushed by Furbolgs en route and the last thing he remembered, was a faint snickering as the world faded to black. "For you, dad..."
Wait... who? what? He awoke with the mother of all hangovers. I can't move. The undead have captured me. Fantastic. So, it turns out that i'm apparently a Forsaken now. I've spent some time in talks recently with the other Forsaken and, despite my initial repulsion, i have never known such a sense of belonging and family such as that found amongst the dead. A new name to match my new body, my new alliegances: Viaseri. My life now is devoted to Sylvanas. Her word is law and she has a lot of words. However, once I get some free time, I intend to find out more information about that ambush. It was far too well coordinated for beasts. We'll see.
Kyan Wrote:I enjoy any roleplay or stories. I read the one in your signature and thought it was rather good. Perhaps i should have taken the time to tell you, as this was awhile ago now. I apologise for that. I'll be doing my best here. Any constructive criticism is always appreciated as this is new ground to me in every possible sense.
Thanks. Again, writing in a foreign language is very difficult. All the subtle things get lost in translation, especially when you need to look for words like subtle in the dictionary (like I had too). Anyway, I'm really glad you liked it.
Kyan Wrote:Sure. How deep do you want me to go?
I don't mind explaining the basics behind some worker micro (which Krill and novice will promptly rip apart in the lurker thread ) and i'll definitely be going through strategic decisions and my plans. The one area that i won't cover will be C&D. I reccommend Spullla's PB2 thread for that or PB's FfHPB1 for a Fall from Heaven version.
No need for any in dept analysis of micro. Just some interesting things here and there (the ones we can learn without habing to do spreadsheets and a lot of simulations). Strategic decisions are the most interesting things to read, at least in my opinion.
No need for C&D. I'll never bother doing it myself too.
It's a pity that I'm already spoiled. I'd like to help the roleplay, but the game fairness is more important. I'll keep lurking, though.

Yeah. If I hadn't lurked around already I'd dedlurk this. I love stuff like this. Refsteels MoO reports were a big thing that drew me to this community, and I like to see people giving a more narrative style a try.

Well, only you guys can make that kind of call. If you know important information and don't think you could definitely avoid giving this away, then you'll have to hold fire until it's no longer relevant. I figure this will get more and more fun, the more people get involved. This is one of the key reasons I am so delighted to have Ref on board. Not only is he a very good friend of mine but also an incredible story teller.
Perhaps if you stayed out of the other threads for a bit, you could hop on board eventually? After all, oledavy is joining one of the teams as a ded-lurker despite seeing the map! I doubt player threads contain much info at this point. A spam post, an assessment of opponents and their pick usually.
I am going to try and do one more 'content' post tonight, but then please be aware that I am going to be away this weekend. Every Friday evening, i do charity work in my local town centre. I do football training with 'trouble' kids to get them off the streets. Whilst they're there, they are free of their worries of their home lives etc. Most of them have ASBO's and the like, yet despite that, they're all good as gold whilst they're at training. Well, to try and get some discipline and some tenacity into them, i have enrolled them all for the Duke of Edinburgh courses. This weekend, i will taking them on a 30 mile hike around the country, camping out over Saturday evening. This is gonna be hectic enough as it is, however, i have a very important football match of my own on Saturday morning. My plan is to play my match, get knackered and then go for a 30 mile hike...

Thank you Plako. Will begin some sandboxing when i get back from my hike on sunday evening.
Quite tired tonight so gonna get some rest, tommorow is going to be a long day! On Monday evening, latest, you will get a content post regarding civ/leader and some sandboxing to try and decide the most optimal opening.
My gut says: Agri -> Fishing -> BW
Worker -> Warrior (til fishing is in) -> Work Boat -> Settler
but we will have to wait and see. Starting with hunting is quite unfortunate as i lack a warrior for home defence duty and, if possible, dont intend to build one immediately
âThere is nothing in your throne room my liege. Whatever was there, has clearly left.â
âThank you. Thatâs even more worrying. Perhaps they know we are onto them?â
The Warchief strides confidently into the throne room, giant axe in hand just âin caseâ. As he moves to sit down, he notices a crossbolt quarrel embedded in the throne.
âIf nobody is here, what were you shooting at?â
âWell, you see, Mnnnguuuhhh made the signal.â
âHe hissed?â
âYes, my liege. Although on this occasion it turns out I had simply stepped on his tail.â
âLet me get this right. Your remarkable snake which you paid 10,000 gold for has a super poisonous bite but nobody has tested this and he is too friendly to bite anyone. Furthermore, he has the ability to gaze into the mists and spot anybody trying to use stealth or invisibility around you. However, his only way of alerting you to the prescence of such hidden enemies is by hissing- which he also does whenever you happen to step on him? Have I got that right?â
âHe also hisses when heâs hungry, my liege.â
âWonderful. So weâre going to be jumping at imagined threats all the time.â
âIâll be ready for them, donât you worry my liege. Here, let me show youâ¦â
Viaseri proceeded to show off his collection of weapons which along with the short sword, dagger, crossbow and blackjack, also included innumerable knives, a garrotte, a precarious and a dangerous looking home-made explosive of some nature (which the Warchief promptly demanded he dispose of).
Whilst being given the âgrand tourâ, the Warchief noticed something else. Besides and slightly above the home of each of these weapons was a little nameplate describing itâs contents. âBlackjackâ and so on.Clearly, Viaseri wasnât quite as full of surprises as he thought but this organisation perked his curiousity.
What is the one thing The Horde have always lacked? Organisation. In single combat, an orc, with his incredible raw aggression, was more than a match for any adversary. The Horde certainly had the numbers too so why wasnât this war won many years back? Organisationâ¦
âViaseri, I canât help but notice that you appear to be fairly organised?â
âYes, sorry about that. Itâs a remnant of my past life in Stormwind. Working as an engineer, everything had to be organised perfectly to maximise our output and ensure all the logistics ran smoothly.Donât worry though my liege, Iâm doing my best to forget all that nonsense!â

âHold on. You do realise this could be the key to everything? The Horde has never been short of aggression, but if we can become more organised, we could be truly unstoppable! Could you teach me?â
âTeach you my liege? Well, yes, if thatâs what you want, but I have far more useful things to show you! I have learned the art of what I like to call âCloak and Daggerâ! It's a foolproof method of working out exactly what our enemies are doing. You start by writing out all possible alternatives on targets and then nail these in a circle to the wall around you. You then wrap your cloak around your eyes so tightly you cannot see and spin around. With dagger in hand, you wait for just the right moment and...
âNo. Forget that rubbish. Teach me how to organise this Horde into something truly powerful.â
âWell, first things first my liege. We should ensure that everyone in The Horde knows of you and what we are trying to achieve here. I recommend we build monuments to you in our cities. These will attract extra bodies to our cause as our culture spreads.â
âI can see a benefit to that. However, letâs make the monuments about The Horde, not about me. We are a unity. I am no god figure.â
âOf course my liege. I also recommend that with most of the Korâkron elite guard gone, you train up a new elite force. A force so heavily drilled that their senses are honed to perfection. I wonât always be at your side to protect you.â
âProtect me?â The Warchief scoffed âWhilst I appreciate your concern, I need no protection. I can see the merits of a crack squad of units though. I will have my Drill Sergeants form such a team. It will take some time to train them, but I am sure it will be worth it.â

So, our leader has been decided. Hammurabi of Ethiopia. Aggressive and Organised. Ethiopia gives me a small edge in culture wars with the stele providing +25% culture and Oromoâs with aggressive could have some use. A bit crap overall but that is what I was expecting. Letâs put them to good use.

Well if we're letting people who have seen the map dedlurk then I should be okay. I haven't even seen that. I looked in on the discussion about what civs/leaders to give you all. That's pretty much it. And I guess that isn't even spoiler information now that you all know what you have.

Warchief Kyan sat on his throne as the throng of people all tried to get into his throne room. What a sorry lot, did The Horde have no true leaders left?
Just when Kyan was about to reject another poor excuse for a candidate, the dust began to pound and there was an almighty screech. A flash of light, brilliant white.
The room began to swim and the Warchief, along with everyone else in the room passed out. The white became black. The spell later became known as an 'Anti-Jackson' but nobody is sure of the origins of this.
"What the..."
"My liege, we are. Erm, well, look outside."
Boss, there is a big fella outside. He looks mighty angry and says you should come speak to him.
Jim, why are you even here? I sent you out scouting!
Got lost boss, couldn't find no bush. There are bushes here though! Not like Orgrimmar...
Wait, what, we're not in Orgrimmar?
WARCHIEF! I DEMAND YOUR PRESCENCE

"Who dares summon the Warchief of The Horde in such a manner?"
"Let me go, my liege. This may be a trap."
"Thank you Viaseri, but I wish to face this foe. I can't show weakness. However, if you see anyway of assisting, please do not hesitate"
Viaseri flashed a grin and disappeared into the shadows. Totally invisible other than the snake obviously following him...
The Warchief follows Viaseri out of the throne room and immediately rocks back on his heels. This is not Orgrimmar. The throne room is intact, but the rest of Orgrimmar is gone. Hell, this isn't even Durotar. This land is rich, fertile. There is a lake nearby and he can see the abundant fish even from this distance.
"Where am I...?
THAT IS THE LEAST OF YOUR PROBLEMS WARCHIEF. YOU HAVE FORCED ME TO BLOW SHARGAHN. ORGRIMMAR IS GONE."
"How dare you! I will kill you where you stand!"
"Where are you anyway? Show yourself, coward!"
The largest bolt of lightning you can imagine crashes into the ground at The Warchief's feet...

PUNY MORTAL. I AM GOLGANNETH. AN AESIR TITAN. I HELPED FORM THIS WORLD AND NOW I HAVE RETURNED TO FIX IT. LISTEN AND LISTEN WELL. I WILL SAY THIS ONLY ONCE.
I HAVE REDEEMED YOU AND YOUR KIND. YOU STUPID MORTALS HAVE DESTROYED, BURNED, PILLAGED AND SPOILED TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND WE ARE TIRED OF WATCHING YOU SHATTER A PERFECTLY GOOD WORLD. YOU ARE LUCKY I AM SO FORGIVING FOR I GIVE YOU ONE CHOICE. THE OTHER TITANS WERE OF THE MIND TO CRUSH YOU FOR YOUR FOOLERY BUT I HAVE BOUGHT YOU ONE CHANCE.
SHOW ME YOUR DETERMINATION. SHOW ME WHAT THE HORDE CAN DO! FIVE HAVE BEEN SPARED. THE HORDE ARE HERE, BUT THE HUMANS ARE HERE TOO. THE NIGHT ELVES AND GNOMES HAVE RETURNED AND THE DWARVES LIVE ALSO. FOR NOW. WE HAVE DECIDED THAT YOUR CONSTANT FIGHTING IS TOO MUCH SO THERE SHALL BE ONE DECIDER. I HAVE BROUGHT YOU HERE TO DECIDE YOUR FATE. YOUR 5 FACTIONS WILL FIGHT AN ETERNAL WAR UNTIL WE HAVE A VICTOR. ONLY ONE WILL SURVIVE. THE WINNER WILL RETURN HOME, THE OTHER FOUR WILL BE WIPED FROM THE FACE OF NOT ONLY THIS PLANET, BUT AZEROTH ALSO!"

"How can we war without armies? Without weapons? Where are the undead?"
YOU WILL CREATE NEW ARMIES, NEW WEAPONS. YOU ALL START ON A SIMILAR LEVEL AND WE SHALL SEE WHO PREVAILS. AS FOR THE UNDEAD FILTH, THEY HAVE ALL BEEN PURGED. THEY ARE NOT PART OF THE MASTER PLAN. THEY ARE PARASITES, NOT ONE LIVES.
HAHA! IT APPEARS I AM MISTAKEN! YOU SEEK TO PICK MY POCKETS? I AM AN AESIR, WE HAVE NO MATERIAL WANTS OR DESIRES. WHAT USE HAVE WE FOR POCKETS?
Golganneth gently blows his horn and Viaseri is lifted in the air by one leg and begins to slowly rotate.
SO, I MISSED ONE AFTER ALL. I ADMIRE YOUR BRAVERY, BUT IT IS ALL FOR NOTHING. YOU ARE USELESS TO ME AND SHALL BE PURGED!
"Wait. Please. Viaseri is one of my most trusted council. The Horde needs him, especially at this time."

YOU WOULD LIE AND DECLARE YOUR TRUST, RISKING MY WRATH JUST TO SAVE HIS LIFE? HMM, HE MUST HAVE SOME WORTH. VERY WELL, WARCHIEF. KEEP YOUR SCUM TO YOURSELF.
Viaseri is dropped to the ground with a thud, he begins to give the Warchief a smile before noticing the scowl on his face. He probably shouldn't have tried to pickpocket the titan...
