I think thats a hold over from previous ww games, before quicktropic was used. wolves would communicate via pm, and camping profiles to see who was sending pm's was used by some villagers.

I'm more interested in rule 14, though. "if the game reaches a stalemate situation." Is this even possible or necessary to include in the rules if there is one wolf tribe only? (as any situation where the village couldnt control who they killed would result in a wolf win, not a stalemate). I think a serial killer type role does indeed seem likely, or possibly 2 packs again.

Not so much the wolves talking to each other but more the wolves sending their night orders to the GM.
Additional also used to see who is online a lot but doesn't post that much which lead to some people using invisible mode.

No vote for now, would like to see everyone show up so we can actually get some information on why we consider people suspicious enough to kill them in cold blood...

First, you were in ww 13. "everyone show up" before voting would mean no vote until halfway into day 2. Same with WW 12, actually.

And you did quite well last game, getting eaten by wolves, but you now forgot all about why use votes to pressure people?

About attacking new guy right away, I find that smart village play. Important to get new guys talking as we have no baseline on them.
(Unless VM would share a link to a forum game he has taken part in?)

Its right we get VM talking but lets not think of voting him off just because of his possible post restriction. I remember watching bob get killed in the last game just because his posts were annoying and he ended up a villager.

Looking at the rules - the last one talks of all remaining players being 'simultaneously eliminated'. That must mean there are some serial killers or vigs out there as surely wolf kills wouldn't end up with simultaneous elimination of everyone?

I read this as one of several "standard disclaimers" that Uberfish is likely to include in any ruleset, similar to the stuff about night action resolution order. He has said quite explicitly in the pre-game thread that there will be only one wolf faction.

Attacking the new guy when he gives wolftells? - yes
attacking him when he doesn't show up during the first 24 hours? - yes
but attacking with the third post in the whole thread a mere hour after the game started is a bit on the unfriendly side
