Diplo with Tropical Trolls

This is the map I plan to send to the Trolls after I edit out any information of our stuff (ie. research, etc). So unless anyone thinks such a map should not be sent to them, I'll probably send it tomorrow or something.

Oh, sorry about that. Yeah, send it along I guess. Just change that first section regarding the scout. Basically thank them for allowing us to pass through and providing the directions. Basically next turn we'll already be out of their territory, so now the message is one of thanks as opposed to talking about them giving us directions, etc.

First up, I just sent the email to the Trolls with the Gillette map image. My chat with plako this morning reminded me about that.

Anyway, had a decent chat with plako again this morning when I got to work.
The first topic of our chat was that he said their C&D department believes that TEAM is also working towards the Great Lighthouse. We get ours in 5 turns (and there's nothing we can do to shorten it) so hopefully they aren't closer than that. They know TEAM has Sailing, and they're pretty sure they have Masonry (but not positive).

Now for the important part. They're looking to have a NAP until T110 (it's T67 now) and I agree with that.
While we were chatting about Gillette (they're nearing NAP re-negotiations) and asking if we had a NAP with them (ours never got finalized), it was decided that we would both discuss with each other before either of us sign a new NAP with Gillette. Basically, we like the idea of agreeing that we keep each other informed of our negotiations with this annoying little neighbor between us. smile
The last thing I brought up was the fact that in order to keep graphs with them I've had to a couple times put EPs into them. He said that they're currently spreading their EPs across all teams, so that was probably why. So we added to our agreement that neither of us would put more EPs into the other for the duration of the NAP.

So this is the final agreement proposal (which I already agree with, so just need the rest of you to decide if you agree):
NAP until T110
Notify the other team of any NAP-related negotiations with Gillette for the duration of the NAP
No putting of EPs into each other for the duration of the NAP

If this sounds good to you guys, we can let the Trolls know that we're good with it. He's proposing this to his team today as well, but he's also pretty sure they'll be ok with it.

Oh, and regarding THH's question in the email he had sent about the war with TEAM this was his response:
"You also asked about our war against TEAM. They just entered our borders with their initial warrior. Tried to choke and mess our sandbox and succeeded. Our economy is pretty weak at the moment, but it would have been weaker, if we would have continued the fight."

I couldn't agree more with that agreement! Thanks for the updates, HAK. I'll probably post in the other thread tonight; I'm spending this afternoon (and the next couple) writing a paper.

This is not a biggie, but I didn't expect you to enter our borders without our directions. Well now when you're there you can either follow the road to NE or go straight north. Road will end up towards TEAM's borders. If you go straight north you can by-pass TEAM's borders.

HAK, if you're able to, maybe you could have a quick chat with plako to clear up the issue with the Scout? Don't want to start out on a bad foot by accident, after all.

Yeah, I tossed him a chat (but he's idle right now) so I'll wait to fully chat with him later.

Anyway, I moved the scout NE....and boy, when he says we would end up towards TEAM's borders, he was being quite literal. Their cities are RIGHT up against each other:

So we have a decision for next turn. Do we want to continue straight East, moving along the southern coast of the continent below TEAM? Or do we want to return to the west a little, to head north on the other side of TEAM?

If we consider going back for the Northward trip, I'll go E first and then NW and then W (to end on the Deer).
If we consider going Eastwards, I'll go N first and then SE.

I'll also try to arrange to wait for doing the full movements until you (THH) are around for being on Gchat. That way I can move one tile, explain what I see, in case we want to make the next movement of the scout based on what gets uncovered in the shadows.
I'm currently tempted to have us explore that southern coastline below TEAM. After all, we do have that other scout coming across the middle of the map.
