(A duel might be a better fit for my availability, but games with just two players aren't quite so interesting, IMO.)
I could play a save once in a while.

There have been a lot of suggestions and ideas in this thread. What is the actual game that is proposed at this point?

Excellent. Can't ask for better backup than that.
(Now I just need to persuade Seven to drop in with some micro plans from time to time... )
Anyway, guess that means I'm tentatively signing up for... whatever it is we're signing up for here.
I think I'd like a PBEM on quick speed, AW and mirrored, or AI diplo and fair. Four or five players on a Mirrorland map would work, or if we get a mapmaker, maybe a 4-way mirrored inland sea. With Novice's map editor, handcrafting various kinds of mirrored maps should be pretty easy.
If you know what I mean.

4-way mirrors are fun, I'll toss my mapmaking hat in the ring if that's the #players. If its five...I'll check a script.

Tentatively, it looks like:
PBEM setup:
novice
com - IF 4 player map.
me
zak - makoti ded lurk
Shoot is open to ded-lurking.
Settings TBD. My preference would be AI diplo, but I'm fine with AW too. Did we want a fifth player?

I'm fine with four, for a bit more slack in the play windows.
If you know what I mean.

Erk! That's a hat of mapmaking, not of playing. I'm a bit full in games atm.

I totally thought you were signing up, too. I was going to call dibs on the position farthest away...

I'll take the 4th spot since Comm isn't playing.

If you still want a mirrored 4-man map, I can get started once someone...Novice? Gives me clear instructions.
