WW22 Lurker Thread - A Psychologist's Report

lol @ matt being metagamed to death. This is bad for the wolfs because they will be forced to waste a night-kill on novice. They could have averted this by begging thestick for novice's pm as soon as possible but they should not have to do that in order to not lose one of their members.

Not much Mattimeo could have done there after the slip.

Last game as a Serial Killer I had same trouble, kept saying town when 'correct' word was village. If someone had put me on the spot at some time I would probably have failed/folded.

Don't think they'll try novice tonight, they'd get spotted or blocked for sure.

I'd look for people who went silent during novice's attack. Arguing heavily for or against mattimeo right away I will take as village tell, people who suddenly went silent (to see how situation worked out) scummy.

Not really. It is hard to defend when the GM practically tells your co-neighbour that he is THE village neighbour. banghead
I hope for scum that there are no more PM's that practically say "xy is scum".

I would've called them both 'the' neighbor even if they were both village. Yes, next time I'll make that publicly known at the start of the game. Couldn't say anything after Mattimeo claimed, or they'd lynch him for using 'a.'

Next time you should call one "the town neighbor" and call the other "the village neighbor" tongue

Not for nothing, but you totally screwed Matt here, stick.

Typically mafia : town :: werewolf : village

So when Matt saw his role pm say mafia, it's pretty reasonable to assume the good guys are town. That's an absolutely terrible way to get lynched, through no fault of your own.

There should also always be a vanilla role pm posted in the beginning. This is pretty much exactly what a gm wants to avoid, getting someone killed. If I were scum here I'd be going absolutely ballistic.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

if thats what happenned, then I agree w/ Gaspar. Im not exactly clear if its thestick's fault though, until I see the role pm's.

My role was "the Mafia Neighbour"

I made an error in assuming that a role with a very good reason not to imply individuality would therefore not do so, despite hinting from novice in the QT that there was something in his role PM that did imply such.
Regardless, it was the town/village difference that got me lynched, not the a/the, and I don't see how it's possible to assign blame for that.

But yeah, thestick, unless your intent is to screw with people, I'd keep all roles as general (ie. 'a'). 'The' really does imply that you're the only one, and would be something I'd use in a case against someone claiming the same role.

besides that, "neighbor" is just a role, independent of alignment. His role should have been "mafia spy" or something like that, and an ability as a part of that role being he's a neighbor. same with novice - "village socialite" or something, and an ability of that is that he's a neighbor.
