Ok, so we have our first played named after a character in the Musashi book.
SevenSpirits is Yagyū Sekishūsai Taira-no-Munetoshi, reasons described below:
"(In the book,) a young and still wild Musashi seeks out Munetoshi, seeking to make a name for himself by defeating the famous swordsman. By that time however, Munetoshi is already old and ailing, and instead of dueling, the encounter turns into a learning experience for Musashi, who is awed by the spiritual power of Munetoshi, and makes him aware of his shortcomings as a person".
What the quote didn't say is that Munetoshi refuses to see Musashi and other traveling swordsmen, much like he refuses to train them. Since SevenSpirits decided not to help us with a ded-lurker status, and since he's a famous civ player, he gets this name.
This makes Serdoa being named after Yagyū Munenori, son and heir of Munetoshi.
Serdoa's thread is now called the Yagyü Clan.

If nothing else, we provide inspiration and motivation for first posts.

Hopefully, Serdoa stays in the game, what with the reload rules discussion.

I didn't realize it was a first post. Welcome to the forums, Ituralde.
Just having someone to bounce ideas with is very useful, so I wouldn't say you are a burden, wetbandit. By the way, if it wasn't for you pointing it out, I wouldn't even have payed attention to the starting techs of our civ. That shows that I needall the help I can get.
I think Serdoa will stay in the game, I think he frequently sounds more harsh than he intends to be in his posts.

You're too kind. I enjoy making fun of myself, you'll see a lot more self-deprecation.
Just trying to keep up in the post-count contest at this point.

We need to know our own limitations. It's impossible to beat Team Pindicooter in the post-count contest. They are on a whole different level.
That being said, I'm naming Team Pindicooter after the Yoshioka School. The Yoshioka School was a very important and famous school of swordsmen from Kyoto, though, at the time of Musashi's life, the School was already at a decadent state (between the not-so-competent rule of the heirs of the founder of the school and the whole bunch of students they had, with not that much regard to actual skill). It was founded by the late Yoshioka Kempo.
Musashi single handedly defeated all members of the school (more than 50 men). After challenging the leader of the School (Yoshioka Seijuro) to a duel, which he won. Seijuro's younger brother and new leader of the School, Denshichiro, decided, together with the other seniors of the School, to challenge Musashi to a duel, trying to improve the now damaged reputation of the school. But Musashi defeated Denshichiro too. After that, things got even bloodier, as described by Wikipedia:
Quote:Musashi challenged Yoshioka Seijūrō, master of the Yoshioka School, to a duel. Seijūrō accepted, and they agreed to a duel outside Rendaiji in Rakuhoku, in the northern part of Kyoto on 8 March 1604. Musashi arrived late, greatly irritating Seijūrō. They faced off, and Musashi struck a single blow, per their agreement. This blow struck Seijūrō on the left shoulder, knocking him out, and crippling his left arm. He apparently passed on the headship of the school to his equally accomplished brother, Yoshioka Denshichirō, who promptly challenged Musashi for revenge. The duel took place in Kyoto outside a temple, Sanjūsangen-dō. Denshichirō wielded a staff reinforced with steel rings (or possibly with a ball-and-chain attached), while Musashi arrived late a second time. Musashi disarmed Denshichirō and defeated him. This second victory outraged the Yoshioka family, whose head was now the 12-year old Yoshioka Matashichiro. They assembled a force of archers, musketeers and swordsmen, and challenged Musashi to a duel outside Kyoto, near Ichijō-ji Temple. Musashi broke his previous habit of arriving late, and came to the temple hours early. Hidden, Musashi assaulted the force, killing Matashichiro, and escaping while being attacked by dozens of his victim's supporters. To escape and fight off his opponents he was forced to draw his second sword and defend himself with a sword in each hand. This was the beginning of his niten'ichi sword style. With the death of Matashichiro, this branch of the Yoshioka School was destroyed.
All that being said, we have the following:
Pindicator as Yoshioka Seijūrō, the dedicated master of the Yoshioka School.
Scooter as Yoshioka Denshichirō, Seijuro's more laid-back, but naturally talented, younger brother.
NobleHelium as Ueda Ryohei, the main advisor of the Yoshioka School, responsible for the plan to take out Musashi after the death of both Yoshioka brothers.
Team Pindicooter (including their lurkers) as the Yoshioka School.
Now we just need to single-handedly defeat them!

Pindicooter's thread often,
Brick should lock it now
