The big problem I have is that you can still work with scooter and the turkey+russia "the juggernaut" alliance is much more common than Russia+Italy. Scooter can forgive and you can put your fleet in RUM. Rowain and I would be hampered by me wasting a turn and not trusting eachother. You didn't backstab scooter; you just exploited his weakness. And I have very cold feet from you ignoring my points in my e-mail too. You just pushed me into stabbing Austria like crazy and that makes me think that you are in an alliance perhaps.

You can get my trust by moving A SER ---> arm. This would be really good for you as you would get all of Turkey! Scooter said that he would insure that Russia would get all his centers if I didn't backstab Austria so he would help turkey crumble even faster than Austria would. You would get all three of his centers...

I assure you 100% that I am not interested in a juggernaut. Every strategy article I have read on Russia points to the strength of an italian alliance, and as I have played as Italy before, I am extra familiar with it.

I want to work with you, but defeating Turkey will take longer than Austria and we will not have this chance again. You will not hold Tri again for a very long time and Eng and Germany will be the dominant players and we are all screwed.

scooter can be crippled much easier than Austria in the medium term. Give Rowain a start and you are done. scooter is moving the way we need him to, so is Rowain. Just stab Austria or our game is done.

We waste another year with this and we have no chance.

I am not stabbing scooter and that is final. I have promised you the lions share of the spoils from this and you still don't trust me. You will never be able to trust anyone here and yours and Austria's home centres are much too close for your dream alliance to survive to the end game.

Ours can. But if you can't see the wood from the trees then we are all doomed. I've tried my hardest but in the end its up to you. If we're at a 2v2 next year so be it. But I will ignore the north and focus on screwing you and Rowain until I die.

Yes. I possibly can trust scooter a bit more, but he's a better players and BLA is a problem.
MJW strikes me as an extreme realist, and an IR alliance would be the strongest long term play as it's much harder for us to stab each other.

This all depends on Italy's moves this turn. I can't do any more to convince him.

Thanks for the answer! This game is fun to lurk, but sometimes it's really helpful for players to just state outright what their true intentions are in the safety of their threads.

There's too many frustrating people in this game.

All Dtay has done in this game with regards to me is make demands and break accords and yet he talks as if I should trust him...

Message 1 - Demands Norway, we make a deal that he takes it with a fleet. He breaks that deal

He now comes back and demands that I support him into Sweden and that he has no intentions of taking StP.

This would be bad enough, but by the looks and sounds of things he's already screwed a deal with France over the channel in the spring and then engaged in some kind of pseudo-schizophrenic mating dance of moves with France in the fall that allows Germany to get 3 centres pretty much uncontested.

I see no reason to trust him and since I can't really screw MJW right now, he is top of my list for just making sure they get nothing from me, even if that means I'm pretty screwed in Warsaw

This game is a mess...

I try to keep flexible and be a bit more opportunist and because of miscommunications and/or MJW leading me on, I'm now in a situation where the whole south doesn't trust me and the North is coming for me... Should've just been stubborn and picked a side in the spring but it baffled me to see Rowain be able to trust MJW enough to let him waltz into Tri, and it totally blew me over when MJW then didn't stab him for that in the fall when he had the best opportunity in the world.

I honestly have no clue what to do with my build and moves next turn. I think I will be the first one to die at this rate too as I don't see where I get traction here unless I sell myself to the Germans, but tbh I doubt he takes me up on it, even though I've tried.

I can't trust MJW, I can't trust AND dislike Dtay, I don't have a clue with scooter anymore - that armenia move was a bit dickish, Rowain I'm sure is swearing bloody murder at me and tbh I can't see how we work together, Cyneheard cannot help and is in enough trouble himself, and Matt doesn't really need my help.

Don't think I could have fucked this up much worse...

The more I stare at the map the more it looks like I have 2 metagame options.

1 - hope beyond hope that MJW can swap sides and Take Tri in the spring and we start to destroy Austria.

2 - Try and stab scooter again.

1 is unlikely and 2 is pretty much unthinkable for me right now. I don't think I have the dickishness in me to do that as I've been as genuine as I can in trying to help him recently.

How on earth does that really improve matters? We have another 2v2 with two adversaries who will never trust us and more stalemate...

Trying to talk him around to a more reasonable plan that may destroy an Austrian army and take two of his home SCs in the spring, but MJW being who he is, will likely not see the sound reasoning of this and will still stick with whatever crackpot theory he comes up with next.

If he had gone with my last plan, or goes with this one, he will be one of the strongest Italy's he could possibly be. Yet he cannot see that somehow :/

I may have just pulled this mess out of the fire...

Matt tells me he is not doing anything with Sweden and is moving an Army to Silesia to prolong the conflict in the east as much as possible.

I take this information and make a deal with dtay to let him freely into Sweden while I try and bounce Germany in BAL. He then promises no more armies in Scandanavia, nor fleets in NWG or BAR.

MJW seems now set on stabbing Rowain, which could mean that Austria is demolished this turn and losing 2 home centres and maybe Greece.

Just need to run this by scooter and get him on board but I can't see why he wouldn't want to join in.

If things work out okay, we might just pull this off and stop a German solo.

One thing is for sure, if Germany had only got 2 centres last year, it would have been much harder to make people afraid enough of him to unite us enough to risk this.
