Meiz Wrote:It would be that Azarius said he didn't read the thread until after deadline, but I saw him online before. But I'm not going to actually accuse him on that, since it's cheap and can be counted to profile-camping category, which we have ruled out before. Btw. I didn't actually camp his profile, just saw his name on the online list.

I would be cool with you using that. popcorn It's not even profile camping in the first place and you really cannot ignore that information.

In case you are wondering it's possible for meta to go too far even for me but this isn't even close. For an example of meta going too far in diplo 4 I basically knew that TT was going to stab me for spamming his thread like crazy and sending me a lame two-sentence e-mail for 1.5 out of 2 days. duh The meta was systematically looking at his post-count in that thread.

Same thing happened in a previous game and he was town.

MJW, that is definitely over the line for Meiz (or anyone) to post. Honestly, I didn't even like him saying he had something he couldn't post - not only does that seem way too like an excuse for not giving any reads it basically means that if people trust him enough to take his statement as important (which they don't) then they can just use this to catch scum.

Possible innocent explanations:
- Tab left open on a page while you are away from your computer (I assume myBB picks that up, but maybe not)
- Someone else opens your browser on a shared machine and it reloads the last page you were looking at
- You open your browser and it reloads the last page you were looking at in the background as you do some work

Anyway, that's profile camping for me nono.

It's hard to not look at who is online when you click on the Gaming Table. Players can hide themselves from non-mods though, that might be a good idea.

When I profile camped I spammed the refresh button to make sure these things don't happen. It updates the timestamp (and what you are doing) everytime you go to a different page. The timestamp still works if you use hidden mode...but you have to profile camp on purpose.

I agree with your logic Qgqqqq but I think it's okay for him to post explicitly about what happened anyway. Meiz is basically saying that actions are less important than words by saying what he said in the thread.

It's very easy to see who's online because now it's on the top of the page. No-one noticed that before Jowy and their was a big spike about people talking about profile camping.

Azarius needs to stop lying about when he's online or use hidden mode. USE HIDDEN MODE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE CAUGHT LYING ABOUT WHEN YOU ARE ONLINE!!!

I do absolutely disagree with that. Sometimes you are official online but not really reading a certain thread or not in a position to vote( perhaps you left the browser at RB open but went to do something other etc) and I absolutely have no interest to play a game where this **** is used. Where I still alive I would vote Meiz off on principle no matter who is scum or not.

To clarify: I am against using "being online" as an argument (or hinting about it).

Agreed - this level of meta gaming bothers me because it implies that you should orient your life around Mafia - and that one's personal life is up for inspection whenever you play a Mafia game.

Not my game, and it's actually being run very smoothly, but add my vote to the 'that's too far towards profile camping' side.

Okay you guys have badgered me enough. rant After people flame meiz for his post I'll say (and edit into the first post):

"Due to overwhelming negative reception I'm going to ban profile camping and talking about what you learned from whose online or not with two exceptions:

1. I left out all the profile camping rules to troll you guys and I like the rules like that. I knew someone would do this and I wanted to show that I was not the sole cause of that rule. popcorn So I'm going to grandfather Meiz's attack against Azarius in as it wasn't against the rules at that time.
2. If someone acts "notoriously" (aka a notorious sinner) wolfish. For example saying you weren't online all day but logging in&out like crazy on the day of question."

You should not say anything at all at least during the game and especially nothing like point 2.
