My shoddy micro netted me a settler eot 22, warrior eot 23 with 16 food; with this my earliest stonehenge was eot 36 with another warrior and whipping a worker (eot 29). I guess you meant only go for SH if we hit copper but I thought I'd try, it's easily transferred into a settler. Just need some good sites!
Border pop was a bit anticlimactic, it revealed some sheep on a hill and not much else. Scout is returning, but which way should he go? I feel like west is the safe bet with the crappy plains hill plant by the sheep, crabs and potential floodplain. East looks like the gamble, there is allot of fresh water so maybe some wet grain(s) ![lol lol](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/lol.gif) They both take 3 scout moves to reach so I'm not sure. A copper location would help. In the south settling for the sheep first ring looks promising but it's a bit far to consider for now. It also looks like controlling the other side of the channel to my capital will be important.

Hey mack, any thoughts on which way to scout? I'm feeling west. Going to play the turn tomorrow.

A lion blocks our scouts path. He occupies the high ground but should move when the turn rolls. If he moves north or NW and I move to the PHF I would get pretty good odds on defense, the problem is it's likely I wont be able to see which way he moves. Unless its E or NE in which case I'll bail and go scout the east because that will be a minimum of 3 scout moves wasted if I wait.
Tech set to BW.

After assessing my odds I moved to the hill. Even not crossing a river gives me ~95% I think. That's assuming -20% for the lion, which I believe to be correct. And yeah this land looks unpromising. Looks like fate has destined the PHF plant. With the oasis the city could work all the non-fp tiles as workshops but I'm not seeing early game potential.

Lion defeated without a scratch, on to the wolf. Oh, and holy mother of god pigs! Bit confused about potential dot map.
And I don't know if this is right but I own 14 tiles, which according to the victory screen is 1.11% of the world, the map is 76x28 = 2128. 14 / 1.11% = 1261 land tiles, (1261 / 2128) * 100 = 59%. So the map is around 59% land? Or in other words probably a flooded waterways torusland map? The map does seem pretty watery...
Confirmation/ridicule on this calculation would be appreciated.

Apparently mousing over the score tells you the number of land tiles.

The worker is complete, pasturing cows now. My current micro is:
Build settler, work oasis for 3 turns. I chose to work oasis over PHF because it wouldn't finish the settler any earlier despite the +2 hammers from IMP, and the extra gold lets BW finish eot 19. Work cows till settler is 58/100, change to warrior. Worker chops T20, T22 chop lands into settler finishes 100/100. Eot T23 warrior completes.
Does this sound OK?
I suppose I could just get a screenshot.
From here out it depends where the copper appears, but with a city sharing the capitals fish (worst case scenario) I could get settler 2 eot 31 and worker 2 eot 32.
