[SPOILERS] SevenSpirits and The Black Sword - Baguettes and Circuses

You know what, I think let's go Boudica. No one else is Cha and two others are already Fin, and I have the same concerns of being underpowered about both.

Boudica should make things interesting.

Some thoughts on Mack's change to Ind:
-seems like he'd be the favourite for the GLH, presumably with a fishing start and another trait that will favour settling near water.
-I doubt we're the only ones with 2 calendar resources at the capital. If so, Calendar and hence MoM could be a close race with Ind giving him an advantage.

On that note, I'm glad to finally get a start that tells me to go to Calendar. 53, 18 and 19 all had wines resources at my capital.

We'll have to see how it plays out - hopefully we can keep some sort of tabs on his teching. Of note, Metal Casting, religious techs, and Compass are all also appealing for Huayna. I guess whether he goes for MoM will depend on how many calendar resources he has.

MoM is also one of the wonders where I don't feel an IND player has much of an advantage. Anyone with marble and a city full of forests has a chance, if they are teching relatively well.

Sounds like we've a good chance of getting the save today. It doesn't seem like our 1 move scout will be able to reveal anything that would make us not SIP. Should we scout west and then start looping around north east? I'd prefer to check out the northern river first, but given the location of the water I think west first is better, and we should still have time to hit up there. Maybe scout the SE with the first warrior.

Also, what do you think about an Asterix and Obelix naming scheme, since we're Boudica of France? We could go with some combination of characters and book titles.

Sure, scouting westward first seems good.

I like the asterix naming scheme plan, it fits.

A possible variant of the asterix strategy is to go for made-up character names fitting the typical pattern. E.g. Atomix / Heroix / Postpix.

I suppose you'll be going with the English translations ? If you plant an aggressive city, or one that will definitely piss off someone it's bound the be called after the roman guy who has a gift to make people hate each other (Tortuous Convolvulus in the English translation).

I'd be happy with that too.

Might not be the best idea to give the other players a message like that. wink

played t0

* Map is 36x36, toroidal.
* Medium Distance Maintenance is not enabled.
* Previous two players settled and according to demographics, they are both producing 5f 1h. So similar start to ours but no plains hill. Probably they get a third resource, then?
* France text and Vikings text are the same color.
* Didn't select a tech (and won't until t5) so we can get 5t of overflow beakers together and earn an extra beaker into AH from the 1.2 multiplier.
* Capital named Asterix, a clear choice if you ask me. I'm liking making up our own for the rest though - I think it will be easier to remember which city is which that way.
