[TECH] Pitboss 39 IT and Tech Issues Thread

Heh, you beat me to it Mardoc. I looked at the text file and it looks like the teams have been shuffled around - so do you just put them in the right order?

The file works just fine if you load it in single player by the way, so is it just a pitboss thing?

Should be all you have to do - I assume the file would have to go to you anyway to be uploaded to the server, so you might as well fix it yourself. Don't change the "Team=X" lines, that would risk shuffling their start locations too, just cut/paste the whole block from BeginPlayer to EndPlayer to put them in order.

Didn't notice that bit - that explains how it slipped through Erwin's testing. lol Must be something like that, a bug in Pitboss where it assumes the file is in order even though the format seems like it should ignore the order and use what you actually type.

Well re-ordering the players gets the starting locations all mixed up - not sure if it fixes the starting techs thing - so instead I just shuffled the techs around in the

TeamID=1
Tech=TECH_HUNTING
Tech=TECH_MINING
ContactWithTeam=1
RevealMap=0
EndTeam

section. I'll have a go at re-hosting it now.

Okay, we're back up and running. Can whoever logs in first check that you're in the location you're expecting from your starting screenshot? And the techs, obv.

Just checked in. Starting location is ok, but the techs are still wrong. Still Wheel/Hunting instead of Hunting/Mining

The other option, then, is to reorder the Players, then go through the rest of the file and swap around all the
"UnitType=UNIT_SCOUT, UnitOwner=3" lines to match who they ought to match to fix the 'mixed up start locations' bit.  Then probably test in SP again because that's a lot of changes and it would be easy to miss one.  I'm about to head home for the night, can help again in about 4 hours if need be.

Edit: Assuming Old Harry hasn't already found the way to fix everything, anyway.
