Damage formula is known to be (at least something very close to):
Quote:Random(24-36 hp)* e^(Strength difference * 0.04) * Wall factor
e is 2.71828....
Wall factor is 15% if melee attack on walls, 50% if nonseige ranged attack on walls... possibly 50% if ranged attack by walls on units
But that takes a bit of calculation to use, so someone also made a convenient table version.

Thank you very much. So the spear is +4 against warrior so it can deal 28-42 and the warrior will deal 20-30? Doesnt seem worth it since 2 bad rolls will put me in a bad spot. Better to find scout and deal 35-53 rolls.

The score increases usually happen at the end of a player's turn, though there do seem to be some delays. Your score won't reflect anything that happened at the start of your current turn when you load the save as the scores are either in the save file or calculated prior to resolving techs, builds and the like. If you save the game at the end of your turn and subsequently load it you'll see that the score is updated for whatever you did during the turn.

Where did that scout go? I really do not want that camp spawning units and I even moved the scout to be closer to the potential action. No one gained a score this turn weird because I cant image Grot not growing EOT his turn. Changed tech to pottery to troll all those using CQUI since they will be no doubt be puzzled by lack of tech by science leader, and no need to complete mining. Definitely different from the AH or BW rushes in civ4.

I had already moved my warrior NW before moving scout. If I havent seen that scout, I was going to hit the spear one time, heal-up, then reattack with discipline. This could be messy. As far as score goes, looks like you gain the points beginning of the turn but it doesnt show-up in demo until EOT? Grot had 7 empire points and Alhambram had 8 points from 6 empire and 2 civic as expected.
Builder will line up with techs.

Dunno where that scout went and i dont know if it saw my city. Bought the 1/3 tile while it was still 50 gold. Moved warrior to strike the camp. CMF got a civ so he must have found a cultural city state early also. I am now kind of regretting the capital move because I am seeing that I gave up 4 3rd ring hills with the move. Now because those tiles are 3rd ring, it is very likely that they would not come into play but I could have also bought the banana tile now and started with +1 production at the start. I will mark this down as a learning experience. I probably will not build a theater square in capital, which is fine because they seem overpriced because a monument already gets you 2 culture for 60 cogs but I will likely also quarry the other stone because I need production.

I feel so stupid because if I had launched the scout towards the river like I usually do in SP, I would have met this city state already argh. 2nd city will have to go where the scout is.
Warrior dealt 21 and took 40. All according to plan. Rest for 4 turns to full health then attack with Discipline.

I had a nightmare about this game last night because for some reason, I could not get a discounted 2nd commercial hub because I was getting too much culture and I could not avoid teching to an entertainment district or a theater district. Stupid mechanics.
Amsterdam met me before EOT and not only I got the 1st envoy, I even got the extra gold at the end of last turn. The quest can be done in due time. With the gold from all these plantations, I can be rolling in the money in the meantime, which I would need not only for military but ti buy tiles. Now that I think about it, I will plant the 2nd city near the sheep because I will go for a very greedy cultural strategy. I will not kill the camp until the craftsman eureka is done so that when I kill the camp, the overflow civic points will goto military tradition and get me the GG faster. Since there will be no military to escort the settler to the horse, I will have to settle where the warrior would be, and I would prefer the scout to scout.
Everyone teched expect Grot. Is he going astrology first or changed tech midway? Did he also find a scientific city state?

I believe that there is a neighbor to N/NE, which would get the writing Eureka. Not seeing a very good city spot around here so far. Grot still has not teched. Interesting.

Grot's warrior is really close to my cap. Wonder how far apart we actually are. He does not have a scout out or is badly damaged since his power is 16. Science and culture is standard. He is making 2.1 faith per turn already. Since marcopolo also teched COL, looks like I might be the 2nd last to the pantheon . Did send delegation for spying purposes.
