There might be, depending on what's on the other side of the mountain, but with what I can see now I would be losing out on access to 2 lake tiles that'll be 3 food after a lighthouse in exchange for making one desert tile useful. On a map that's as food starved as this one appears to be, maximizing crop yield is more important to me.

do you have any exciting plans for your marble?

I've been trying to come up with a good way to grab it so I can go for Oracle, but the options I've got aren't great. If I settle City 2 where I really want to, I'd have to settle on the marble or 1SE to grab it. If I settle City 2 directly on my copper, I'd lose the copper mine output all game, but with my super hilly capital that wouldn't be as big of a loss, plus I might have horses or iron somewhere that makes up for it.

Here's what I've decided to do. City 2 goes on the copper, City 3 goes 1N of the marble and will be my Moai city, City 4 grabs first ring gold, cows, and fish. City 3 will have up to 11 coast tiles to work so once I have Moai up it's going to be a monster of a city. I just wish I had more, or frankly any, tiles to cottage up before I get Iron Working and start clearing out jungle. I'm going to go for Oracle and see if I can grab Metal Casting with it, which will give me a head start on the most important wonder on this map, Colossus.

After I actually looked at the description for Oracle in this mod, I noticed that none of the world wonders actually get bonuses from resources, only national wonders. That means there isn't actually anything neat I can try to pull with my marble until Literature and heroic/national epics and that anybody who has stone available early on this map has a huge advantage in getting their Moai city up fast. Having seen that, I swapped the order of City 3 and City 4 because getting the gold hooked up and worked will actually make a difference that the marble won't.

Made my first contact and it's Krill, to my distant S or SW. I'll have to make sure I have good naval sentries posted up in that direction. It's definitely going to be vital to get my Moai city up as fast as possible so I'm putting out 2 promo galleys and triremes.

This map is big. Krill seems like an unenviable guy to be next to.
