I'm up for Thurns and Taxis, and maybe Ezigia if anyone wants that.

I'd be up for Egizia as well, if you give me a day to read the rules. smile

I sent invitations to both games.

Thanks, sooooo. I've accepted Thurn and Taxis, but will wait until tomorrow before accepting Egizia. I need to read the rules first and don't want to hold up my other games just because Yucata wants me to play Egizia first...

Ok, I've accepted the invitation for Egizia. After reading the rules I'm thoroughly confused, but I guess playing the game will help me understand it better...?

The invitation said "no +2, no scoring card" or something like this. What does that mean?

The game is not perfect - it is definitely on the "fiddly" end of the elegance spectrum. The actions you can take and the sphinx cards are not balanced either, though that is partly the point. The great part about this game is the tension you feel about how far down the nile do you go to get that card/action you really want. Because you can't go back. Do you go for it early and miss out on all the actions before it, or do you go slowly down the nile and risk missing out on that card you really wanted? That's the crux of the game.

In general, though there are strategies that ignore this, you want to increase your worker power, your farms and your stone production at fairly even rate. You don't want lots of worker power without the ability to feed them or the stone for them to build with. Though if you are at the 4th level of the grain market you can care less about having fields. And if you are at the end of the stone market you can put a lower priority on stone quarries.

There is one nile card and one sphinx card that many people think are overpowered (and I would agree with them), so yucata has the option to take those two cards out of the game.

Ah, okay. While I felt instantly "at home" with Stone Age, I think I'll need 1-2 turns of Egizia to get an idea how the game works. Thanks for the explanation, sooooo!

Hey, right now you are leading in score while already having very nice multiplier cards and Sunrise is the one who got to 3 farms during the first 2 turns! In the meantime, I have no idea if my strategy will work at all, or how to execute it properly... smoke lol

Okay, now my chances of actually winning this are quite good I guess. Getting all shaman cards was really amazing. smile

Unfortunately I've got to go to bed now, so we have to finish this during the next days. But playing so quick during this evening was fun! thumbsup
