Oh boy. Hashoosh wasn't reporting so he suggested I log in and look around. When I tried to get in civ crashed on my end. I didn't want to do anything more until I knew what the deal was so I PMed sunrise and went about my day. Not my intent to take over turns or screw the game up. Apologies all around.

Guys, what problems with turn pace you talk about. The timer is 24 hours for a reason.

I also don't get the turn pace problems, especially given it is almost Christmas.

Well, so far we've accomplished 37 turns in 45 days. That is WAY below the expected amount. 24 hours is supposed to be the maximum turn length but if you were to look at this game you'd think it was a minimum. Here, I'll check a few other PBs to see how many turns they managed in the same timeframe as us.
PB8: 50% more turns than us
PB11: twice as many turns as us
PB13: 45% more turns than us
One thing we should do to help is set the timer to a lower amount, as currently it's going over 24 real-time hours. But the main thing that's necessary for a good pace is simply people playing their turns more promptly. It shouldn't be hard this early in the game, when time required is like 20x smaller than it will be later in the game. The fact that it's taking us over 24h per turn this early on is a poor omen for what will occur later on.
Of course, over the next couple of days our turn pace is expected to be quite slow regardless, as many people have trouble playing at this time of year. But this slowness is not a new issue.

For me, my turn pace is determined by my RL rhythm. I can play once in the day and those are my nights after work, social life, training, young kids, young wife, etc, etc. In the weekend and holidays if I am not going somewhere out of town, then I can play more frequent.
