To be clear it is fine to have to pause. Life happens and family comes first and I see you are Canadian so moose attacks are a real hazzard. But it is nice to let us know when you will be delayed Hashoosh.

I don't mind the turn pace here because next time we have the Pitboss vs. PBEM debate and someone smugly states how much faster Pitbosses are, I can just link the tech thread here.

I'm getting more than a little tired of the incivility, Goreripper. It would indeed be nice for players to play on time or give notice in advance when they can't do so. However, it is not your place to be rude or insulting when addressing the issue as you have done with patronizing remarks here and on civstats. We play these games for fun. For me, and perhaps others, rudeness detracts from that fun. I get plenty of rudeness elsewhere on the internet, I'd like to not encounter it here. Please practice some restraint in this regard in the future. If you must be rude and dismissive, kindly do so the privacy of your own thread.

Hashoosh, is there anything specifically preventing you from routinely playing turns on time? I have been traveling recently so I don't know who has held turns up and with what frequency, but since Goreripper directed angst toward you I thought it may be good to ask. Please reply and let us know when you anticipate being able to play and if any accommodations will be needed in the next few days. Thanks.

Clear and inexplicable. All comments within my oeuvre show that I am taking none of this seriously.

Flat out calling someone stupid is uncalled for, as you did on civstats. That taken in conjunction with this other stuff leaves an unfavorable impression. (To me, others may feel differently. I only speak for myself.) Be sarcastic, goofy, etc. enjoy yourself. Just don't cross the line where you are derogatory or abusive toward another player.

I guess it's pretty understandable to call me stupid, I didn't set up a contingency player. Toronto (where I live when not in Halifax) got hit by a freak ice storm last weekend, but I still had power up to Christmas day. Then a tree fell on my street and we lost power (most of the streets around us had already lost power). Something like 300,000 houses were without power this week, and I didn't know anyone with power, it was that bad (or I just don't have very nice friends ). Anyways, I apologize to everyone, and I really don't mind being called stupid by goreripper.
