Yes, it's nice to have the Great Lighthouse helping to fund our new cities.

Looking at the microplan, we'll have our sixth city up and running on T50, and two more cities around T56 (depending on where the island city is). Not only that, but we have two more settlers in construction, with one completed the following turn!

So by T62 or so, we'll have TEN cities!!

And only 7 workers by the looks of things, although we can easily build more in those last 6 turns or so. Plus, we have fast workers, we have coastal tiles to work, and we'll be hiring scientists.
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

We currently being out-EP'd.

Shoot has 52 on us compared to 36 we have on him. This is presumably because he still has not met anyone. I'm going to drop him a quick note saying that we have still only met two and asking if he has met anyone else.

Darrell has 32 to our 16, but he will hopefully be able to stop on 43 now that he has met Kyan.

Just as a note to self on trade routes, we have a total of 13 at the moment (4 x 3 coastal cities plus 1 in the inland capital). This comprises 8 overseas +3 routes and 5 domestic +1 routes.

I presume that the overseas city we are shortly going to found will give our two cities which have domestic routes a +2 instead of a +1, and the overseas city will presumably have three +2 routes? If so, founding the city should gives us +8 income, less additional costs of course.

I see you decided to go with an extra (vs the micoplan) turn of 100% gold given that we have library completing in Seaside. Maths is comfortably a three-turn tech at 100% research so we have no problems sticking to our Pyramid Scheme.
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

Awesome updates as always.

In the last screenshot, Trading Post is working an ocean tile. How did you manage that? lol

Message back from Shoot:

Quote:You are still the only other civ I have met. Not all that much has changed in regards to exploration since I sent the maps to you. The only real change actually is that I finished scouting the northern extent of the peninsula that extends NW off my continent, although there wasn't all that much of note there (just a thin grassland strip with some crabs, and a some land visible across the sea, although with the workboat you guys sent that way I suspect you already know all that). I recently got a workboat out for scouting purposes, but it is still moving along parts I have already defogged. How is your exploration going?

I hope everything is going well for you guys domestically. As a heads up, I now have a monastery completed, so we should probably begin planning about getting you guys a missionary. The first three at the very least will need to go to my other cities to get their borders popped as I am not cultural, but I have two chops coming in (with the mathematics boost) and a whip I can do to get missionaries out, so those shouldn't take that long. If you guys have a galley that would speed things up, as I wouldn't have to build one before the missionary -- let me know in that regard.

Proposed draft reply:

Quote:We've not done much more exploration either. We felt we were falling behind so have focussed on expansion, and our exploring workboat is heading on a direct course so not really giving much in the way of detailed map information.

In terms of our main landmass, the NW arm is fairly short and generally resourceless and the SW arm continues for about 6-7 tiles past the cows, has horses and shows some other islands nearby. We have not yet explored the southern arm, which is where darrell is very close to (and hence he is laying claim to it).

We plan to settle the island to the north of our main landmass and to the west of your NW arm shortly. So we do have a galley that can ship a missionary across, but it depends on timing as to where it will be when the missionary is ready. But there is no rush, so let us know in time when you have a broad ETA.

I also prepared a reply, I see you've made your own draft while I was busy. Anyway, here's my proposed reply (as originally drafted):

Quote:We suggest you prioritize your own cities with regards to religion spreads - it looks like we'll get access to Hinduism anyway and religion is not really top priority for us.

Our scouting workboat has just skirted the coast of various landmasses without meeting anyone. He's not stopping to explore in detail as we're hoping to circumnavigate.

Since you're done scouting your own continent we're interested to know if you see any suitable city sites for us. We'll have a settling part ready in the not too distant future. Maybe we could compensate you with a galley, a fast worker, or something?
I have to run.
