Surprised that JR never heard the meaning of sock: to sock = to punch, hit or beat.

I had never heard of the verb to Sock before, just the noun. Codenames is very good for learning new words and meanings. If we had gone for Luck it could still have gone either way but fortunately Bob and rho21 were pretty confident about Sock as our final word. It did indeed seem like a much harder than normal board.
