The Quarterdeck - Turn Discussion Thread

If we go for a prod city better to settle near the horse. It's closer to pink dot so will be easier to get defenders there. And we can pasture the horses and build a couple of chariots to protect against axes.

I don't think we will lose out on Hinduism if we go for it after pottery. No one will waste their time on it seeing writing will be available for them. If we lose Hinduism then we could make a play for Judaism after we research writing, fishing, and hunting. Viable option.

Settle either horses or copper. We do need military.

Techwise, Pottery first for Terraces...

Looks like its our turn again. I'm able to play in a few hours. Did we decide on what our capital is going to build? Settler or Quechua?

with 0 overflow into it and expecting to chop, i dont think growing to size 3 will speed up the settler at all. It will gain us 7-8 commerce though. I'm really unsure as to which is better. In any event we need an escort for the settler/third city - i was expecting we could use the capitol one and build a new one right after the settler - but again - could go either way on it.

Also - it is probably ok to go on that hill and meet down the civ that is there, right?

Ok Played our turn.

Moved Settler and Quecha to the hill tile to settle next turn. Met the Green team - Menagerie i think? Also moved the Scout onto the hill tile to meet the green teams borders. We should be okay to settle next turn.

Moved one of our workers towards second city, and moved the second worker onto the forest spice tile to chop next turn.

The capital is building another settler for the horse city. As waterbat said, we could send the capital quecha with the third settler and then build a quecha for the capital at the capital.

Settler should finish in 9 turns at current rate, but if the chop goes in, it should speed it up by 2 turns, and we could also whip the capital for 1 pop, to speed up the settler another 3 turns to get the settler out in only 5 turns. Not sure how this will affect our finances, but will probably require a bit of consolidation before we settle a fourth city.

Wheel should be coming in 3 turns, and Pottery 9 turns (i think). The capital should be finished building its quecha, and be ready to build the granary just in time i think.

I'm really unsure about building another settler at size 2.
Building another quecha and send one scouting towards horses isn't that bad, especially if it gives us more commerce and Pottery sooner for Terraces...

Not sure what the right play is. I think both have merits. Having said that a their city may reduce our ability to research pottery as fast as we can with two considering we may have to Rick down science. Might be bet to switch to Quechua this turn and wait for it to complete. Both Quechua and going to size 3 will take 4 turns so that works out nicely.

What does everyone else think?

Wow, that image is so small that I can't read it.

I think we should go for Size 2 Settler. We already have the Horses scouted and trading expansion for commerce feels like a bad deal.

Of course, Fishing after Pottery.
