[Spoilers] It's time to play the music

Things won't be boring if TBS razes Gonzo neenerneener

Having thought about it a bit more I doubt we'll scare off the workers, but it is nice to have the second half of the timer.

TBS didn't attack gonzo. hippy

Nah, you're doing great. Just been curious what's happening elswhere and I'm not very active to offer regular support. Good luck, still rooting for you smile

Turn 108

Someone founded Confucianism this turn. TBS's trade routes are actually great for us - I didn't think we'd benefit but we're now full up. smile

On the frontline we are at least making OT4E waste a lot of worker turns nod.

OT4E almost emptied Rocky, but I can't take advantage this turn. I moved three vultures, a spear and a chariot to the grass hill SW of Rocky.

The Chariot had 70% odds on the Quetcha in JJ but I chickened out and moved back to the hill the Vulture is on. That might have been dumb :/.

After the turn roll we need to hook Iron fast for all our Swordsmen... except that we don't have any...

At least it'll be in borders in six turns. frown

What is with the placement of the strategic resources?

And clearly we need bandit to supply the bloodthirst.

What happened to his galley on the east coast?

The resource gods have had fun with us on all 3 strat resources so far. Maybe we can beg an iron trade from someone?

I think it's fine not to hit with that chariot. It ties down (presumably) some other military unit in the fog by JJ. He whipped twice this turn, I expect a spear/axe in JJ. Hell, even a sword. His swords on bare hills are even odds vs vultures.

Turn 109

OT4E reinforced majorly (3 axes, 2 spears), so I pulled back and, given the lack of Iron for Swords I offered peace. If he takes it we can think about restarting hostilities in ten turns.

His Galley is still on its way, so he may not accept peace.

Three Zigs in place mean we're about to overtake OT4E's EPs on us.

All this (phoney) war means we're getting sucked back into the pack. Mack has FIN, but no-one else has a late-game trait (unless PHI counts?) so I'm not worried about getting crushed by an ORG economy. We do need to keep expanding though, so two settlers will pop out soon.

One more barb city slightly out of reach...

Tech path is slightly up in the air - we could go
- MC (448 beakers) for a Trireme and then Machinery (1046) for X-bows and windmills
- Mono (179) - Monarchy (448) and start a GA, then get to CS by the end of the GA
- Aesthetics (448) - Lit (299) is still unresearched for SoZ and TGLib (and the epics). SoZ would go in TSC, TGLib could get chopped in a city settled for our northern Iron.
- Compass (598) for EXP harbours that get 4 gpt trade routes instead of 3gpt
I'm leaning Mono-Monarchy for now, but Aesthetics is attractive...

Turn 110

OT4E took peace so I'm interested in settling c? to steal the cow and bridge to the gems site down south. I wanna work out what the worker on this hill is up to though - in fact I think we need to figure out how he intends to attack/defend in ten+ turns time before committing to this city site. I suspect he's going to go for Horse Archers, but research visibility (due in three turns) will be informative.

Up north I'm wavering over where to plant the clam/gold city. C1 gets two extra grass tiles (one is a hill), C2 gets an extra forest and gets a galley to the stage tile for attacking NC a turn quicker... Any opinions? I thought that two galleys here, loaded with a vulture and three Swords would dump the cargo onto the forest 1N of NC either the turn or the turn after we reveal our sword/cat stack in Statler.

Animal will grow to 11 at the end of next turn, then complete the settler for the gold/clam city, then build a Palace to complete about when we switch to Civil Service and build an academy. I think all the remaining hills want windmills, only question is should I work the incense or 1-food windmill tiles?

Fozzie whipped this market this turn and will get half way to producing a GM during the golden age. The second great person will be a scientist from Beaker for Animal's Academy, then to get the fourth great person for our second golden age we could try for the Music artist or wait a long time for Beaker to pop another scientist. Or capture Nuevo Cuzco and build the National Epic there. hammer

Do we want to give Mack open borders? He's got them from OT4E already, but no-one else. He also has the Great Lighthouse and a scout on our borders. I think I'd rather not give info about our land away, even if we could get some info about his.

I hawked our spare luxuries around a bit - I dunno if I offered Pindi or Com these already... Must remember to cancel the spice trade with Commodore in two turns.
