Er, why would he be? Are they even contesting any of the same cities?
[LURKERS] Mr. Gradgrind's Review

Well Dreylin did indeed get line of site on that city. There's a good chance that he suicided a unit just in case Scooter messed up. LOL
Brick has the right to be an a-hole and force a reload because there's no way Scooter would figure that out in time. But there's a 99% chance Tohron would have made that post anyway if he was dedlurking so I wouldn't go for it. Lurkers give Sullla an edge and you agree to give that edge if you play with him. I think it's beating the horse but I wanted to reiterate as game admin. I understand wanting to participate as a dedlurker Tohron, but unfortunately unless you know a good brainwashing service I'm not familiar with it's too late for you for this game. Id recommend finding a team in PB34 to dedlurk, or wait for a new game to come up, and just try and enjoy being a global lurker this game. I don't know what the others would think but that reload should not have been given. I'd guess the others would argue that the AI hijacking your units is not part of the UI (and stuff like that) in the first place. This isn't a case of fighting the UI. That units in ships don't defend against land units is a deliberate mechanic, and one that at least one of the players on that team knew about. Quote:To continue to play devil's advocate, if successfully fighting the UI to get the game to do what you intended is "Part Of The Game", then why was there a reload for REM's autopromote mishap? REM's reload was agreed to by the other players, that's the clear difference between the two situations. I sympathise with the view. Clearly Scooter intended for the infantries to defend the city but made a mistake. That's not the kind of mistake I want to capitalise on. At the same time you couldn't blame Dreylin and Ot4E for wanting any advantage possible given the dogpile. You can make an argument that lurkers should be allowed to fix mechanical errors. Where the line for mechanical errors is tough to draw though and how do you make sure that we catch all of team A's errors in addition to all of team B's? In any case the precedent is pretty clear that lurkers are not supposed to help mechanical issues without a direct question from the player currently.
Interesting; looks like the dogpile isn't going pear-shaped existential; It's just shuffling the configuration:
Dreyote >> REM >> Scooter to REM >>> Dreyote > Scooter 3-way FFA, particularly with alternate expansion paths, tends to be highly conservative.

I write RPG adventures, and blog about it, check it out. As in he viewed Scooter taking the barbarian city almost as an act of disrespect. I wonder if it's a cultural misunderstanding and he makes the "safe" play to "team up" with Scooter against the now seemingly runaway REM, or if he just goes berserk and tries to burn as many REM and Scooter cities as possible (especially Scooter's since he's in a much more vulnerable position in regards to Dreylin). Dreylin will surely want peace and will probably want to work against REM. Not only is REM now tactically the strongest, the SoL means he's got a better economy even if everything else was equal. |
