[Spoilers] luddite tries to remember how this game works

A city with no infra like mons meg is easily replaced. The 3 pop hurts a bit. If he takes it you can probably finish his stack over the next few turns.

I think it was present to heal your stack before advancing as you have no certain knowledge of his strength. You have played this war well and it seems like you will get your revenge at least. Winning the game is a later issue.

Thanks! Yeah, I remember like 20 turns ago I thought mongs meg could not be defended. It's definitely worth trading mons meg to kill his stack. a settler for me with IMP is 60 hammers; his stack is about 500 hammers. It's crazy to think i might actually win this war, even if I get stomped by Scooter and Oxy soon.

(it is possible that I made a mistake going for drill over barrage. Or even by attacking that initial musketeer instead of waiting for the stack. Well... decisions are hard.)

What's in your capital?

2 swords, an axe, a spear, and a warrior. Ideally i'd like more in there, of course, but with 40% culture and his stack all being injured I think that should be safe.

Ugh, this is annoying. My hero artillery Nelson died. From the chariot! Cairo had just enough to finish off both.

Not a disaster though. My cities are now safe and I can probably finish off all his remaining units now.

Feeling very conflicted over all this... I'm thrilled to destroy his stack and save all my cities, but sad to lose my units . I'm frustrated that he rolled well here and that I didn't reinforce with at least a spear. I guess this is very aperpot for losing a unit called Nelson ?

I guess now that it's done I can say I was surprised your artillery didn't move back into the capital.

In retrospect yeah, that was a mistake. I really thought that stack would be safe with the two of them vs damaged musketeers.

But also it's tough to not make any mistakes. I've been at war now almost 50 turns, almost two months in real time. Its kind of exhausting.

Yeah, of course. I honestly thought you were a goner ages back. You've done well.
