[Spoilers] It's time to play the music

c2 seems slightly better. No OB for mack is best, I think.

City 1SW of cows will drain troops for defense purposes especially when we're intending to go on the attack.

Quote: Animal will grow to 11 at the end of next turn, then complete the settler for the gold/clam city, then build a Palace to complete about when we switch to Civil Service and build an academy. I think all the remaining hills want windmills, only question is should I work the incense or 1-food windmill tiles?
What about cottaging the grassland hill?

I say work incense and switch to windmills to reach happy cap when GA kicks in.

True about tying up troops. Also it won't be settled in time to steal the cow anyway. So do we stretch to the gems or use that settler on the island towards Commodore?

Animal is +8 food now if it works cottages over mines. There are four plains hills, one grass hill and two desert hills. A Cottage mean it's +1 at size 17. Mostly a windmill means faster growth to get to that point, but it lets us run an extra rep specialist or a couple of mines to build Oxford. Of course if the happy cap goes up again before we get machinery then I'll probably change my mind. :P

I *think* we'll get machinery after civil service, but that music artist is sorely tempting me.

I was surprised to find we can 1-turn Monarchy so we run four specialists in Animal to start the GA next turn jive. Ipecac - you may be pleased to know I had second thoughts about cottaging the grass hill - by the time I can build a windmill it'll be producing more commerce, and growing onto windmills isn't all that attractive anyway...

Interesting times - OT4E built TGW in Rocky (our border city) we presume for the culture points as it'd be the first city we capture in any war between us, negating most of the GG point bonus. Or maybe he's having barb trouble? We got tech visibility this turn and he was showing one turn on Construction but logged in and changed it to five before ending turn. GNP scrying tells me he doesn't have Feudalism, but he's got to have been researching something, so I think he's the one player with Horseback Riding. eek

Commotay got a great engineer (unless it was 2 Metra, which seams unlikely) but there aren't many expensive, good wonders left so they could bulb Machinery. Oh, and Niels Bohr will launch our first MoM golden age. smile

First we change some civics.

Then we become Hindu.

Beaker will quickly aquire GP points for our Academy scientist. We could switch to Caste in five turns and speed this up even more - if we're going for CoL over Feudalism, which I think makes sense. When Beaker finishes its market it could pump some missionaries for cities that need infrastructure. Or keep building Catapults. hammer

Fozzie is tagged as our 300 point GP city. It'll be a Merchant and likewise sped by Caste.

Then we could use caste to push points in one of our other cities - Kermit can run a spy already, but won't grow particularly quickly. Note the Galley which should complete next turn and head over to settle the island towards Commodore. A work boat will follow about five turns after.

Waldorf will have +8 food next turn and could then grow a couple more sizes before running a lot of specialists, or it could build a load of mines to allow it to pump units near the conflict zone. hammer

Or maybe we just take advantage of the MoM GP points in TSC and run it close to starvation to beat Fozzie to the 300 point GP?

In other news why did Mack go for HR over Rep with his pyramids? Edit: Durr, its because 2metraninja got the mids duh.

No-one is going for my sales pitch, so I lowered the price a little.

Oh, and these look pretty good, but someone overtook on food. frown

No Elephants or Horses hooked yet for OT4E. He gets Construction this turn so it'll be interesting to see what he goes for next. I pillaged the road after this picture, we have five more turns of peace so I plan to pillage the road 1NE of the Vulture and then head back to uncover the city to the SW unless anyone can see a better plan?

Exploring to the NW of REM reveals a really unattractive island. I *think* TBS will be somewhere close by.

We're up to six Cats now, and we can build Swords from next turn.

Our galley is under way - a Vulture will accompany the settler.

Mackoti started a golden age and adopted Bureau already eek. He also gets a free city, although it is populated with Archers and OT4E's Woody2 axe is heading this way.

We'll have graphs on TBS in a couple of turns, then I want to know what Mack is up to. Graphs are spoilered for quantity:

Not a lot happened this turn, but this is fun - OT4E got Construction last turn and this turn started on . . . Animal Husbandry! Yeah, he doesn't even know he's got horses and can't actally build a camp on his Ivory until next turn... More concerning are the workers building roads and chopping the forests in between our lands. The staging tile will host four vultures, a spear, a chariot and five cats by t120 (when we can fight again). Units there can get to Statler in one turn and Sam Eagle in two, which should be plenty of time. Question: can the galley see Sam Eagle if it comes in to the coast? I think it can't...

I think three people have Aesthetics now, so I'm less enamoured of the top of the tree than I was. OT4E is going for Literature, which makes me hope that in the short term he spends hammers on wonders rather than Catapults...

We're due to revolt to Caste next turn, with 7 turns of GA left, but we could delay two turns to get Bureaucratic too. That would mean sticking with Caste after the GA and our Palace and Academy aren't due in Animal for 5-6 turns, so I don't like it so much as a plan. I'm actually thinking of getting Feudalism for the arrow bonus on Civil Service and so we can switch to Serfdom at the end of the golden age. After the GA we'd go for Machinery and build a load of windmills for the Serfdom hammer bonus. I feel like that's the best play because the lack of food nerfs Slavery and I don't see us building workshops to make Caste more worthwhile. As an EXP civ making more workers is cheap, so its not totally optimal, but it will save 4gpt nod.

Our settler is due to board a galley next turn, but I have a feeling Commodore already got to the island frown. We'll also settle C2 next turn - I like the immediacy and forests of the city.

At Fozzie I'm a bit torn - I'd like to whip the Zig in, but we need the city to pump a lot of GPPs in the golden age so I don't think its a good idea.

Might have built a few too many catapults. When the ones in the queues are ready we'll be up to 15 crazyeye. We have plenty of Swords in production now, and with the enemy's lack of HBR as long as we can stick to hills our Vultures should defend nicely.

That's Mack with the top GNP - somehow his Bureau-capital is size 18 eek. He's going to overtake our score very soon (until we get some cities from OT4E) and I'd guess TBS and Mack are the ones ahead on food.

I was navigating through the earlier part of the thread because I was curious about logging in (and I never wrote down the login info) and I found this which I found humorous:

The Great Library got built this turn. Pindicator, 2metraninja and Commodore all had score increases greater than 17 - if we don't know which civ it was then it must be 2metra (who we haven't met yet) right? Also note the Viking capital is somehow size eighteen. eek

Running mass specialists in TSC, Beaker and Fozzie. TSC will pop t122, Beaker should be t125, then Fozzie will take another 15 or so turns to pop out the 400 point GP. At that point

Rowlf was founded. the question is - should it build us a second galley or just concentrate on getting a quick start with a granary?

Plans for attacking Nuevo Cuzco took a hit when the forest got chopped. We could land stuff on the grass or plains hill or just on the grassland if all his troops are in Rocky. Our Galley will get to the staging tile on t123 with one move to spare, so it could move a tile further. A spy will reveal the contents of NC on t120, then check the fogged tiles on the indicated turns if he doesn't get shanked. We can chop a second galley on t120 to also get to the staging tile t123 if we think it's worth it?

I'm thinking that our main attack force should land on the red diamond, with a force of X swords and Y Axes on blue where X is the number of axes in Rocky and Y is the number of Spears. Then the cats bombard the walls out of Rocky and perhaps scratch the top defenders, after which the blue force attacks. We'll need two workers on each tile. If we can get roads on the two green diamonds I *think* OT4E can't see the units staging on the right hand one to hit the red tile.

Another option is to show the stack in Statler the turn before declaring, then move it to blue when we declare.

I like this graph.

Although all the specialists are hurting the demos really badly frown.
