to restrict the sources for errors please try it out without the wrapper.
Create an shortcut to Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe and
add the mod in the properties of the shortcut

"[…]\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe" mod="CloseToHome_2.0"
Example image to clarify what I mean with 'property window' for an other program/mod.

Do not start the program over steam, but use the new shortcut.
After Civ4's startup you should see the mod name in the right top corner.

If it still crashs on login take a look into the folder structure of the unzipped mod:
Is it [Installation directory]\Beyond the Sword\Mods\CloseToHome_2.0\Assets  ?

Wrong would be
[Installation directory]\Beyond the Sword\Mods\CloseToHome_2.0\CloseToHome_2.0\Assets
[My Documents folder]\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Mods\CloseToHome_2.0\Assets

not sure exactly what you mean, but i go to the file location, and open  Civ4BeyondSword2015.exe there, and the problem is the same. When you say without the wrapper you mean i should delete all the files that came with the wrapper zip?

This is the location of my mod files:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\CtH 2.0.2

The folder name for the mod must be

CloseToHome_2.0

not CtH 2.0.2

Question though: Is there a way to shrink the list of civs on the right side of the screen? I use a low resolution screen and the list goes all the way up past the advisor buttons and turn number and out the top of the window  crazyeye

In the Bug Option menu is a tab for the score board. You can shrink the line height. smile

Thanks! thumbsup worked great.

Sorry for holding everyone up, hopefully turns will be faster on my end from here out...

Unforgivable. I think only a 24v1 dogpile will solve that.  lol

It's a known fact that eliminating the player whom holds up the turn improves the speed.

So what happened to the timer?
I'm sure there is a good reason for the extension, it would just be nice for everybody to know what's up smile .

I can just say that it wasn't me who increased it. Maybe just an accident (wrong PB affected)?
